Sunscreen DEal

Ask:
I also posted this in what's in store, so moderators if you want to delete that is fine, I just thought this was a great deal and let as many people know as possible.

Walgreens has Banana Boat sunscreen BOGO free this week. We live in Florida and although I have to use Blue Lizard on my son with eczema, I will stock up on this for the rest of us.
On a side note I am just wondering how many bottle people go through in a summer/year. We use it year round, at least on our faces and arms in the winter so many 3 or 4 bottles??? But I always have an extra in the car for kids in the playgroup because someone always forgets. And we were at Seaworld on Mother's day and there was a family there who I overheard talking about whether the gift shops has sunscreen. They had a young baby who was already turning pink so I let them use ours.
so how many bottles do you use?????
Answer:

Gosh I am not even sure. This sounds like a great deal too.
I have 2 girls that are in seperate classes at Daycare during the summer so they each need their own. Then I need one for home and I like to have 1 in the carjust in case. My girls are very fair skinned so reapplying is necessary.

My kids aren't in daycare, but dd (3) is in preschool and they aren't allowed to give any medication, and apparently sunscreen falls into that category. So I have to put it on her in the am. But they only have recess for 30 minutes. I think it is odd they can't apply sunscreen even if parents bring it for their kids.

We use a ton of it too. I LOVE Blue Lizard and just bought 3 bottles of it to get us through our 10 day beach trip next week. I bet we go through 5 or 6 bottles in a spring/summer season between the 4 of us. My kids and I are very fair (dh is darker and isn't as good about using it as the rest of us, but at the beach when he is outside all day he will use it faithfully). My oldest is allergic to every sunscreen known to man except Blue Lizard sensitive skin (no chemicals!), so I just buy it for all of us. It is so waterproof and you don't have to reapply but every 4 hours. I order it from drugstore.com for much cheaper than I can buy it here.
Answer:

You are supposed to use 1 oz for your whole body, like the size of a shot glass for an adult. That's a LOT of sunscreen. An average sized bottle should only last you one trip to the beach for reapplication.
Answer:

Does anyone use THAT MUCH sunscreen in reality??? That is alot

That does seem odd to me. When ds was in preschool if you didnt bring in a bottle the kids had to stay inside.

A shot glass does seem excessive, guess I should use more.

This year I bought a couple of spray bottles but I bet it goes quick.
Answer:

to make this deal even better a few weeks back there were coupons in the paper for $1 off 1 banana boat product.
Answer:

I just got B1G1 Banana Boat at Walgreens, too. In case anyone's interested. I bought one Kid's sunscreen and of the Baby's sunscreen. I'm hoping the Baby's sunscreen will be ok on my baby's very sensitive skin.
Answer:

Vioburn,
I read an article once that said that there is very little difference between kid sunscreen and baby sunscreen. It has to do with active ingredients, not protection. Wish I had saved that article.......
