You *might* be able to convert it through iTunes. Try dragging and dropping the .avi file into the "Videos" library in iTunes with your iPod connected. .avi is a bad format...you should be using Quicktime .mov formats.

Does your camera record as an .avi format? Is that how you pull the videos off of the SD card? What type of camera do you have?

ummm its a polaroid that records on an avi format. They open from windows media player..

See if there's a setting to record to a Quicktime .mov format on the camera. Otherwise, just try to drop the videos into iTunes and see if it likes them or not.
