Answer:
Are you and your friend Samuel L. Jackson standing in a fountain containing a bomb?
Answer:
I'm guessing this is a homework question? If so you are best doing it yourself.
Answer:
Okay joking aside, I'll look into it. (Stupid approval, i was making a Bruce Willis, reference). If I find out how to do it, I'll give you some hints.
Answer:
Ah, by the way the question is formulated, at least the way you formulated it, you know it can be done! This is good to know, because otherwise it would be easier to see if it cannot be done.
Answer:
Is it allowed to throw away part of the water? This might be of help.
Answer:
Ah cracked it. If you really need to know the answer you have to say something. But it isn't all that difficult, I managed to do it by some simple trial and error whilst doing my other homework.
Answer:
I took about 10 steps to get 10 ounces of water, maybe there is a faster way, (being a mathematician) this is of course a far more interesting problem, now that you know the solution (or at least I do), is there a minimum number of steps required to get the solution, is it unique etc. Not that you are at all interested in these sort of things, you just want the solution. Cool. Thanks for the problem, it was quite entertaining.
