I am 17 years old……….I am dating a boy with out them knowing……..I want to tell them but I know they are going to flip out……..My step-mom told me before that if I started to tell her stuff and tell her stuff before she finds out that she will start to trust me more……….But how can I trust her not to criticize me and say ignorant stuff about me when I tell her something? You've done it backwards! Maybe's it's not too late... Invite a few friends over, and include Shane. Do this several times, gradually reducing the number of people until it's just you and Shane and one or two others...then tell your mom that you want to go to the movies with Shane, and see what happens. Of course, if Shane is a creep this isn't going to work, but it might be worth a shot.
