I'm sorry, but I respectfully disagree with your view point. Obviously, your friends family is a bit dysfunctional. If your friends mom was so drunk your friend had to take care of her siblings (subsequently getting poor grade)... the is WHY counselors should be on school campuses. The grades are the least of the concern or the problem. The grades are only a symptom of a deeper issue... abuse. Yeah... I said abuse. Ok... neglect at the very least. How many times a week does "mom" get so drunk she can't take care of her kids?!! You should be saying, "WTF!!! your mom got so drunk she can't take care of you?!!!" If you were a friend, you would have taken your friend, to the counseling office to let them know that your friends mom has a PROBLEM. lol im laughing pretty hard right now. if you consider the fact that my mom had a more or less wilder 30th or 40th birthday party with all her friends and i had to take care of myself for a weekend, then i believe i see in you somebody who sani-wipes their kids everytime they touch something that's not indoors... sealed behind double doors. oh, and just in case one of ur giuests needs emergency surgery... your kitchen floor is ready for them! of course it is negelect, but if you say there is not times where you wish to forget ur kids for a couple hours, and its ur birthday, you are lying. and if you say there was never a time where you had a busy weekend and had a bad grade as following... you need to reconsider you "stucked upness". and every family suffers their amount of difunctionality. and she was gone saturday night and was "sick" sunday. and "mom" gets drunk enough to not take her of her kids... maybe 3 or 4 times every 10 years. her own round birthday, high school reunion, and the anneversity trip. its not a repeated problem, so it is not an issue. and if you are 16 years of age and cannot take care of yourself... well wow i must be your kid!

Excuse me. I didn't realize I was speaking to an irreverent, disrespecting, 16 year old. You may laugh your way through life for all I care. You never mentioned any of these details in your original post, JUST like your friend probably didn't say any of it for her teacher either... all the school knew (at first) was poor grades, drunk parent. And while I am not the stepford dad you speak about....lol... not by any stretch of the imagination... you're right, I would NEVER get so drunk that I could not care for my family. If I am going to tie one on... my family will be take care of FIRST. As we agreed... that is neglect. You are living in the USA, your friend is lucky. If any school official suspects or knows of any abuse or neglect, they are by LAW bound to call the police (or appropriate official, i.e. CPS) In this instance your friend was ONLY sent to the counselors office. There are bigger and far worse things that can happen to unintelligent, irreverent, disrespectful 16 year olds... than a trip to a counselors office; that's a walk in the park my friend.

oh, another fact i forgot to mention... i do not live in the United States America. you can call me disrespectfull. i am. do i have issues... yeah, most of them are what you call worse than a trip to the counselors office. and yeah a trip to the counselors office is a trip in the park. i can take very good care of myself alone for extended periods of time. i do not know if this is because of the hars european influence my growing up has had, or if its just the lack of the bubble-wrap bullshit america's doing right now. i take the unintelligent as an insult though. ive been through a lot some american kids are far from hearing of. i do not respect or appreciate ANYBODY messing with my life when i do not want them to. sure, there are trends. and there are expections. i flunked ap bio... yeah i did, caus i do not understand the english language well enough to go that deep into the material. and i do not want this thread, that was created as a lighthearted sarcastic "i cant believe this is happening" thread, turning me into the little SEVENTEEN year old ******* prick. caus i can be and dont enjoy that.
