I think I’m actually a computer. I think of everything in terms of assembly language, and can’t understand anything that’s not in a if/then format. I do not belong with humans, and do not have feelings. The only thing I’m good at is math. I am only a freshman, but I have already finished all of the math in my whole school in the first couple of weeks. Is it possible that I am actually a robot? I have always felt that I belonged more with computers than with humans. Also, people always tell me that I see things in terms of black and white. What does that mean?
Answer:
Is this a joke? Because you're not a robot, you're human.
Answer:
No, I'm a robot.
Answer:
Look, it means you're what society would call a nerd, like I am, but you're no robot.
Answer:
I don't belong with anyone else. I belong with computers. I think of things like a computer. I don't understand people. I'm not sure if I would pass a Turing Test.
Answer:
Look, I feel very similar to how you do. Join the Geek club.
Answer:
Where?
Answer:
Just an expression. Look here: post/103464-geeks
Answer:
I hate all of those stupid expressions and stuff. Why can't people just say what they mean?
Answer:
Yeah, stop hating, ya'll. There's nothing wrong with comparing yourself to computers. It makes perfect sense to me. You sound like you have an inherent gift in mathematics, and that it makes you exceedingly concise in your thinking and perspective on life. I wouldn't call it a bad thing, but it is kind of dangerous to think you don't belong with people and that you don't feelings, because everyone has feelings and has to be able to connect with people in some way. Keep in mind when people say you 'think in black or white', that ussually means they think you think very two dimensionally: you see a good and a bad, a right and a wrong, this answer or that answer and no variations, or 'shades of grey', in between.
Answer:
if you have a talent for math (i assume that was high school math you finished in the first couple weeks) you should do self study of mathematics there is way more math than you could imagine as a freshman high schooler there is so much math that no one person could learn all of it in their lifetime and being good at math carries lots of benefits, especially if you enjoy it subjects you might want to take a look at to start: learning to prove things rigorously, discrete math, more calculus (i've heard the book by Spivak highly recommended though i didn't use it myself), vector calculus, linear and abstract algebra, algorithms, complex variables, differential equations, numerical methods, probability and statistics, and a lot of advanced topics i have not mentioned so bury yourself in a book. it will be rewarding. your mental traits are a blessing
Answer:
you should become a math teacher when you get older... you are a human but you just seem to be comfortable with technology than you are with people, but you are definately not a robot
Answer:
Whenever I've tried teacher people in the past it's always ended with me screaming at them about how they're too stupid to talk and breathe at the same time and that there's no way I can explain it, because it just is. I would say that there are few things I would be worse at than being a teacher.
Answer:
lol well then i gues being a teacher isnt the way but im sure there are other things you can do that involve a lot of math.... im terrible at math i wish you can give me some of your smartness to me hehe. but sometimes people can't process things in there minds as fast as other people so some people have difficulties in learning.everyone has flaws and we just gotta accept that.
Answer:
Fraggedmeme is right, humas are like computers in a way... we get viruses, we can work slowly at times. when we learn things it saves in our "harddrives" ya know
Answer:
don't be a teacher if you have poor social skills, if you have math skills you can get paid more doing other stuff you can be an engineer, a computer scientist, a statistician, maybe even a mathematician logical and mathematical thinkers have plenty of excellent career options, better than almost any group except the moneyed elite
Answer:
umm
Answer:
I have a brother who matches your description exactly. You just have to accept yourself for who you are, but try to relate to other people and their situations. P.S. I am so glad you have a talent for math. It is a special gift, to be appriciated.
