I think that is really bad, some people should just take a reality pill, honestly. Getting judged just for your name is a horrid thing and also for the reason that they can choose to talk to someone or not because of their skin, sheesh, I never knew that racism was so bad untill I came to here.

If your parents are against blacks, why did they name you Latoya? Also, how do you know that people aren't interested in talking to you until they find out you are white. In my experience, people can tell someone is white as soon as they see them - so I don't understand how you could sense any sort of discrimination.

Even though your post doesn't make much sense to me, if its true there is a very simple answer: change your name. You will never have this problem again. I don't know the exact process, but all you have to do is contact the govt(maybe start with the DMV) and fill out a change of name form. People do it all the time when they get married - only they usually change their last names. You just change your first.
