You need to get a job. Go to your local Command labor and get some temp work. You can set it up to get paid daily or weekly. There is still time before Christmas to start paying for your bills and for the kids Check with your local Community Action or apply for a Christmas basket with local churches. We have a program here called Horn of Plenty and they supply the kids with toys and a food basket for the holidays. You need to talk to your kids and explain that right now, money is tight and you will not be able to afford allot of presents for Christmas so they will only be getting a couple of small presents. When you can afford it they will be able to get one present that they really want. Remember that it doesn't matter how many presents they get to open. Whats important is that your there and care and love them no matter what and isn't that what really matters. Hope this helps :-)

I worked the same job for 5 years as a tow truck driver, about a month ago I injured my lower back, I worked 2 days after that because I loved my job and the people around me. Since the begining of Dec 2007 I have been off work on workmans` comp, being single and making alittle over minimum wage, I get enough money to pay rent and food for my 2 cats. The other day I went too MI DHS to see about getting some food stamps and medical because I am a diabetic. Well I qualified for food stamps and not medical. This is no joke, they offered me $10.00 a month worth of food stamps, in MI that equals out to be 1 gallon milk, 1 dozen eggs and 1 loaf of bread. This is how our government takes care of needy people, they more-a-less said screw you on your diabetes. Since that day I had to sell my only vehicle to make ends meet, the nearest store is 1 mile away, I use crutches to walk because of my back injury and today it is 23 degrees outside. This may sound odd but as long as I can provide shelter for my boys (my cats) I will survive. It is very hard to find doctors that give free diabetic supplies and medicine. My internet service is ending Feb 1st, Have a great day.

I was feeling depressed and sorry for myself until I came across these posts. I feel so petty and small-minded after reading how bad life can really become. I have everything, and some people have nothing. After reading this, I feel so grateful for having the people around me who care for me and love me. As well as having a roof over my head and last but not least - my health. You people are the REAL HEROS. Thankyou for showing me that you never give up...ever. Dave.
