The Laramie Project…

Ask:
..was the most moving play i have seen. I just got home from my high schools production of it and it was so wonderful. My high school was never very open to gays so the fact that they put that play on, and had such a HUGE cast, meant so much to me. Im a lesbian and only 3 other kids that i know of in the whole school are out as gay, or bi, i being the only lesbian…when the play ended the cast told everyone to stay in order to hear about a gift they set up. So one of the cast members gets an envelope and tells us that they have donated a big sum of money to the Matthew Shepard foundation in the names of our director and set designer. Both were brought to tears with that annoucnment, it was so amazing….i think this play had a huge impact on my school and i hope that it will start to become more accepting to other lifestyles. I think that everyone should watch that play, it is bloody brillant, the way it brings forth a terrible event to show how a community can pull together.
