Well it dosen't really effect the earth at all, the earth has gone through many many phases and its been estimated around 4 super continents too! The CO2 levels in the earths atmosphere have risen and fallen dramatically for the earths history (what we can measure). What people don't bother looking at when they look at global warming is that it isn't a man made effect its a natural occurrence. Global warming has just been slightly sped up by humans inputting harmful chemicals into the atmosphere. In fact Global warming is only due to the fact that the globe on average will be warmer, studies on the arctic circle have shown it to be getting colder not warmer over past years. Anyhow i could go on for ever, the media turned this into a frenzy when really it shouldn't have been. The big problem is that all the natural migration routes that the flora and fauna would usually follow to survive the temperature fluctuations over longer periods are now cut off via roads and city's. Thats where people should be focusing, the world will get warmer and colder with or without us.

@Xeno - The problem is we can't prevent global warming which is what alot of people want to do. it IS a natural phonomena we can stop contributing to the gases and causes of global warming but the globe will warm up. If you examine temperature records for the last few million years we are currently in a colder period than the average temperature, throughout the span of our measurements. What gives us the right to change the natural order of things by stopping global warming? do you really want to be part of a change that tries to stop it and in turn screws up the planet even more. If we stop our contributions, then so be it, the world will still warm, just don't be one of the numptys who refuses to look at the real evidence and only what you see on TV. We CANT stop global Warming, only stop our contributions.
