I work security monday and tuesday nights, and maintanence thursday, friday, and saturday mornings. I dont aclimate my sleep schedule very well so i’m still awake at 3am and i have to be at work in 5 hours. My boss wants me to quit nights and start days but i hate working during the day time. I mean really hate working during the day time. Too bright too loud and too many people up n moving around. I’m just a natural night owl. Plus i have no social life because i’m always too tired to get out and interact with people. And the pay bites. What should i do? Also not to be ungrateful for advice but if all you gotta say is go to school please just skip posting here entirely.

i used to work night time and i loved it ,you can park anywhere without getting booked no one around only petrol stations and corner stores ,try to persuade your boss to keep you on night shift make it another couple of years and then go in to something else,thats what I've done ....

I work from about 4pm to 1:30 or 2am every time i work. I did have 2 jobs, one in the am. and the other in the pm. Like you I could only sleep when I got off either job. I chose one and stuck with t. I think that's what you should do. Even if you don't pick the morning shift. I think the best thing for your body woukld be to choose one and go with that. Good luck.

I going to assume you have already looked at the option of taking on more work with the night job. So what about finding another job. If you can save up so money and take 3 days off the Day job and look for another job. Or since you can't sleep, on Monday and Tuesday go to an interview Once a day on those days. Security is always looking for people for night work. I know ur going to be tired looking for a job. But you should go ahead and be productive and get what you what. I would be tired from kickin' all night then tired from work every day.

I worked night shift for 27 years. Hospitals are always looking for Security. Sounds like you are a night person. If your boss can't give you more hours on nights start checking into the hospitals. Usually you get paid more for nights too.
