Does it mean anything in your life?… “I will honor Christmas in my heart,
and try to keep it all the year.” “So remember while December Brings the only Christmas day, In the year let there be Christmas In the things you do and say.”
“Until one feels the spirit of Christmas, there is no Christmas. All else is outward display-so much tinsel and decorations. For it isn’t the holly, it isn’t the snow. It isn’t the tree not the firelight’s glow. It’s the warmth that comes to the hearts of men when the Christmas spirit returns again.”
This is the message of Christmas: We are never alone.” My idea of Christmas, whether old-fashioned or modern, is very simple: loving others. Come to think of it, why do we have to wait for Christmas to do that?” The joy of brightening other lives, bearing each others’ burdens, easing other’s loads and supplanting empty hearts and lives with generous gifts becomes for us the magic of Christmas.” One of the most glorious messes in the world is the mess created in the living room on Christmas day. Don’t clean it up too quickly.” Christmas is doing a little something extra for someone.”
Maybe Christmas,” he thought, “doesn’t come from a store. Maybe Christmas… perhaps… means a little bit more.” Christmas Eve was a night of song that wrapped itself about you like a shawl. But it warmed more than your body. It warmed your heart…filled it, too, with melody that would last forever.” “I sometimes think we expect too much of Christmas Day. We try to crowd into it the long arrears of kindliness and humanity of the whole year. As for me, I like to take my Christmas a little at a time, all through the year. And thus I drift along into the holidays-let them overtake me unexpectedly-waking up some fine morning and suddenly saying to myself: “Why this is Christmas Day!”"
“Christmas is not just a day, an event to be observed and speedily forgotten. It is a spirit which should permeate every part of our lives.” Let Us Keep Christmas
Whatever else be lost among the years,
Let us keep Christmas still a shining thing;
Whatever doubts assail us, or what fears,
Let us hold close one day, remembering
It’s poignant meaning for the hearts of men.
Let us get back our childlike faith again. May you have the gladness of Christmas which is hope;
The spirit of Christmas which is peace;
The heart of Christmas which is love. Christmas is coming, the geese are getting fat,
Please to put a penny in an old man’s hat;
If you haven’t got a penny a ha’penny will do,
If you haven’t got a ha’penny, God bless you. “Take time to be aware that in the very midst of our busy preparations for the celebration of Christ’s birth in ancient Bethlehem, Christ is reborn in the Bethlehems of our homes and daily lives. Take time, slow down, be still, be awake to the Divine Mystery that looks so common and so ordinary yet is wondrously present. What is Christmas? It is tenderness for the past, courage for the present, hope for the future. It is a fervent wish that every cup may overflow with blessings rich and eternal, and that every path may lead to peace. It comes every year and will go on forever. And along with Christmas belong the keepsakes and the customs. Those humble, everyday things a mother clings to, and ponders, like Mary in the secret spaces of her heart. The best of all gifts around any Christmas tree: the presence of a happy family all wrapped up in each other. From Home to home, and heart to heart, from one place to another. The warmth and joy of Christmas, brings us closer to each other. Every time we love, every time we give, it’s Christmas. Bless us Lord, this Christmas, with quietness of mind; Teach us to be patient and always to be kind. And the angel said unto them, “Fear not! For, behold, I bring you tidings of great joy, Which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David A Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you: Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.” It comes every year and will go on forever. And along with Christmas belong the keepsakes and the customs. Those humble, everyday things a mother clings to, and ponders, like Mary in the secret spaces of her heart.
“I heard the bells on Christmas Day
Their old, familiar carols play,
And wild and sweet the words repeat
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!
“I will honor Christmas in my heart,
and try to keep it all the year.” Christmas is not a time nor a season, but a state of mind. To cherish peace and goodwill, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas. Christmas waves a magic wand over this world, and behold, everything is softer and more beautiful. “So remember while December Brings the only Christmas day, In the year let there be Christmas In the things you do and say.” I am not alone at all, I thought. I was never alone at all. And that, of course, is the message of Christmas. We are never aone. Not when the night is darkest, the wind coldest, the word seemingly most indifferent. For this is still the time God chooses.” The time draws near the birth of Christ;
The moon is hid; the night is still;
The Christmas bells from hill to hill
Answer each other in the mist. “But I am sure that I have always thought of Christmas time, when it has come round…as a good time; a kind, forgiving, charitable, pleasant time; the only time I know of, in the long calendar of the year, when men and women seem by one consent to open their shut-up hearts freely.”
Christmas isn’t a season. It’s a feeling.
Christmas, my child, is love in action. … Every time we love, every time we give, it’s Christmas.
Christmas–that magic blanket that wraps itself about us, that something so intangible that it is like a fragrance. It may weave a spell of nostalgia. Christmas may be a day of feasting, or of prayer, but always it will be a day of remembrance–a day in which we think of everything we have ever loved.
Christmas! The very word brings joy to our hearts. No matter how we may dread the rush, the long Christmas lists for gifts and cards to be bought and given–when Christmas Day comes there is still the same warm feeling we had as children, the same warmth that enfolds our hearts and our homes.

I came to this web site with a list of things I wanted, and some things I had to give away. Even though I am 43, I have learned a lot from all these different people. I have read sad stories of people asking for money, money, money. It is sad that christmas has turned to commercial. I have given up on my list of wants and started making a list of giving. I have already got one present going out for a couple of kids that I read about on here. Everyones different opinions has reminded me, that for me, Jesus is the reason for the season. I have also thought of a great way to make kids feel good on Christmas, I am picking 20 kids, from here and my yahoo groups to send Christmas cards with a dollar, it doesn't seem like much, but I am making every effort. God bless everyone, and thanks so much, for your beautiful post.
