chest pain or heartburn??

Ask:
chest pain or heartburn??
I really do not know what heartburn is or how it feels. I have been having a very strong pain on the right side of my chest near the breast bone. The pain goes straight through to my back. Burping or antiacids do not help. Nothing helps!! I have recently been having test for possible gallbladder problems. No gallstones were found. Colon had 4 polyps removed(no cancer). Stomach was very irritated(looked like blisters to me) but no uclers or bacteria found. No medicines or diet management given. Discussion of gallbladder surgery has been dropped. So where do I fit in all this? Am I just suppose to disappear? No one has given me any answers to what is wrong with me? All I know is the pain is worse and spreading. Does anyone have any ideas of what my next step should be? What type of Dr. should I see? I have been to an internist, surgeon, and gastroentrologist? The only thing I know is an ER Doctor, sometimes the pain is that bad but for some reason I always talk myself out of going to the hospital. Thank you for having this website. Just having someone to read/listen is helpful and your answers are very helpful also.
Thank you very much.

Welcome hammy,
Since you are negative on the gallbadder issue maybe your Dr. could refer you to an orthopedic Dr. Maybe something is not quiet right with your spine causing this pain towards the back. Why is your stomach irritated? Do you have a hiatal hernia?
I would think you don't disappear and ask your Dr. your primary what other tests can be done to find a cause. Alot would depend on your medical history, medications, other symptoms weight, diet all of which we know nothing about. Persue your primary for proper referral to find out what is wrong. Let him do the thinking and stay visable.;)
