Designer lines warning

Designer lines warning
i recommended designer lines to a friend after seeing such glowing reports on here, anyway she ordered a chanel a few weeks ago and has since been contacted by someone from chanel's legal department as they are investigating the selling of counterfeit bags:eek: she was shocked to say the least, especially as the email said her bag may be seized:eek:
i have then read the designer lines thread and apparently their site is down
just thought i'd let people know
xx
Answer:
Thanks for posting that BB. That's a bit of a worry isn't it :cmeek:
Answer:
i know! she said she felt so bad but i don't think they will really seize the bag, if anyone is going to be punished it is the people who were selling them
xx
Answer:
after seeing the other thread, i emailed them, as i have a faulty bag that needs replacing. they'd already agreed the replacement, and had sent me a form to fill in and packaging to send it back, but i still havent sent it back.
i emailed and said i couldnt log onto their site (played a bit dumb), and asked if it was still ok to get a replacement.
this is what they said:
hi clair
Yes of course - we have been suspended this afternoon for copyright infringement. My boss is trying to sort it out now :(

We have the bags still here and will be happy to exchange it for you so don't worry.
so at least theyre being quite open about it, so im just gonna cross my fingers that they replace the bag ok. :cmdunno:
Answer:
thing is copyright infringement is pretty serious - i doubt they can just sort it out! a company like chanel has the money and reason to take it pretty far
sounds like you will still get your bag though clairabelle

help - removing make up from clothes!
    Hey

I wonder if anyone can help me. I have just bought a new top from topshop and wore it for the first time on saturday - as luck would have it, i managed to get a blob of foundation on it which i didnt notice til later so the stain dried in. I have tried vanish on it and it didnt even fade a tiny bit!

does anyone have any miracle advice for getting rid of it? the top is white - would bleach work?! Im scared to do that in case i totally ruin it!

    thank you for any replies

ps would this be better in the home forum? i really wasnt sure!
    Answer:
    Hi

Which version of Vanish did you use? I always find the liquid one best, and sometimes it takes more than one attempt to get a stain out. I would pour the vanish on the stain, leave it for about 5 mins and then rub it (very gently) with an old toothbrush. Then pop it in the wash and it should be brand new!

PS I only did this the other night with a blood stain so it is really effective.
    Answer:
it was the pretreatment spray one? is that the same one? i will give it another go and try the old toothbrush trick to see if that works

you have given me faith with that blood story!!
    Answer:
It's not the spray I used, its the liquid one.

It's called In wash stain remover, Vanish Liquid Plus. You can use it to pre treat and also in the main wash.

    Bets of luck!! :fingers:
    Answer:
I haven't tried any of these, but google yielded the following pearls of wisdom:
    For oily foundations:
Apply a dry-cleaning fluid to the stain. This is an oil solvent that will tackle greasy, oily stains by enzymes that attack the protein-glue which bones the stain to the fabric. Do this by putting the stain "face-down" onto a clean, old towel and dabbing the stained area with the solvent, so that the stain comes out of the fabric and onto the towel. Rinse the area thoroughly. Next, dab some liquid detergent (and very little water) onto the stain using your fingers - this will lift the remaining colour out of the fibres. Rinse again and then check for any remaining stains, before laundering as normal, if the fabric is washable.
Apply a small amount of shaving cream to the stain and work in using your thumbs. If this doesn't remove the entire stain, add rubbing alcohol to the mix and let it set on the area. Make sure the stain is completely removed before putting the garment into the washer.
Spray the spot with oven cleaner (in a well-ventilated room), wait ten minutes and then launder. You may need to do it more than once but don't leave the oven cleaner on too long. Restaurant chefs use this to get stains out of their white jackets. (I'm not convinced about this one :loopy: )
    For non-oily/water-based foundations:
If these stains are fresh, they often come out simply by rubbing gently with a baby wipe or clean cloth moistened with a mild pH balanced detergent (a mild non alkaline non bleaching detergent). A small amount of witch-hazel spread evenly over the stain and then rubbed firmly with a damp cloth is another thing you could try. Whitening toothpaste is another home-made solution: moisten the stain then rub some toothpaste over it and leave for a few minutes, before using an old toothbrush over the stain and finally rinsing.
If it is a deeper stain, you will need to treat the area first with an enzyme pre-soak product or even just some neat detergent applied directly to the stain. Leave for about 30 minutes and then wash in the hottest water that is safe for the fabric. Make sure the detergent you use does not contain natural soap as that can permanently set the stain. Check the stained area before you put it in the dryer - if the stain is still there, do not dry it but repeat the pre-treatment.

sure this has been done to death...jeans!
    Hi guys,
I really struggle to find jeans, can anyone help? I'm not that big (12-14) but I have a very roundy bottom :o
French Connection has been the only place to find jeans that fit, but I'd love to know whether anyone has found any others? I did try some 7 for all mankind ones as i'd heard they were good, but not on me unfortunately... I don't want bum cleavage, I'd like a flattering fit to suit my hourglass shape
    Thank you so much :)
    Answer:
i'm a similar size and these are my new ones:
I find wide legged styles really flattering
    Answer:

    Mulberry Annie or Emmy?
If you had to choose which would you go for?

I'm thinknig black but not sure which style.
    Answer:
Emmy for sure. Just prefer the look myself.
    Answer:
I personally prefer the look of the Emmy but can't get on with it shape-wise. The Annie can be carried over your shoulder but the Emmy can only be carried in the crook of your arm or in your hand.
I think you should "try them on" in a store to see which you prefer.
    Answer:
If I was going to buy one, I'd go for the Annie. It looks easier to carry and gain access to. The Emmy looksgood but it looks like it would be a bit of a faff getting your purse out. I also think the Annie is not as heavy.
    Answer:
Who cares about practicalities, the Emmy is GORGEOUS! :faint:
The Annie is pretty, but doesn't look *special* imho and I think you'd get more 'Oooh I LOVE your bag' comments with the Emmy (which is obviously the main reason for a girl to buy a v.expensive here ;)
