NEXT online Delivery Time
Hi
If I was to order something from Next on-line - do any of you know if you can get next day delivery? I have tried looking on website but cant find it!
Thanks
Answer:
They usually offer next day, depending on what time of day your order. If you go to the checkout it will ask you to select your preferred date and time for delivery and will show you the available options :)
Answer:
You have to add the stuff to your basket to check it's available first. Then, once you've logged in, they select the earliest day for delivery - usually the next day if the items are available.
If you enter L9006 or K9004 in the promo box when you log in, you should get free delivery, too ;)
O/T but what do I do?

O/T but what do I do?
As per my post on the Weekend thread I have a job interview on Tuesday :yay:
I'll need the morning off work but I don't want to give my current employer a hint of what I'm doing.
So do I
- Work from home all day and sneak off to the interview. Possible downside is that I could be called into a meeting at the office as they won't think I'm busy
- Pretend to be seeing a customer so that I don't get called into other meetings. Potential downside is that my boss might decide to come along with me, which he's taken to doing recently as he doesn't have much of his own work to do
- Ask for the morning off. As it's short notice they'll probably ask why and the only legit sounding reason I can think of is to say that I need to go and meet the court welfare people who are dealing with Mini Mr Shiny to be 'checked out' (this is semi-true as I was going to have to do this, but they decided they didn't need to meet me)
I hate lying and I especially hate using the court stuff as an excuse :(
What do I do?
Answer:
I just generally use the excuse of doctors or a hospital appointment when i need time off work because i know my boss isn't exactly going to delve into details, just say it's "womens problems" if they do and nothing more needs to be said.
Works for me everytime.
Answer:
I thought about a doctor's appointment, but in my mind that's code word for 'I'm going for an interview' and I'm pretty sure that's what my boss would think.
I have the world's guiltiest conscience :head:
Answer:
I'd go with a doctor's appointment - they're legally obliged to let you take the time, you are legitimately uncontactable and your boss won't want to go with you !
Answer:
Yep i'd go with doctors appointment/feeling ill too.
Need Sandal advice!

Right. I love shoes. I used to wear high heels all the time until two unfortunate netball accidents ripped both sets of ligaments in my left knee. I can still wear heels if they are evened out with a platform sole OR if they are high without having a too highly angled slope (if you know what I mean).
I've got a couple of pairs of wedges, although they're only comfortable up until lunchtime but my favourite favourite sandals from Shelleys (bought YEARS ago, very chunky platforms, quite seventies) have had to be thrown away.
I've always got emergency flats but I need some higher ones and they have to be suitable for work (smart casual and not too high!)
Anyone got any suggestions of good places to look?
Answer:
shoes
i would look in Office and Kurt Geiger..... they have some nice wedges in that are not too high.
Answer:
have a look in too. they have some lovely ones.
Answer:
I bought a lovely pair of wedges last year from Clarks. I wore them today actually. My feet feel as if they were born in them!
Answer:
for comfort (My god how OLD does that sound!) you just can't beat Clarks but I kid you not, every single item I've bought from there I've had to take back after a few weeks because the straps fall off, heels come unglued, sole gets a crack in and falls apart! Its put me off a bit - i got some really nice brown wedges from there last year and they'd fallen apart by end of summer - i did wear them a lot tho..... :o
O/T - Gordon Ramseys programme tonight. Cant believe it!

Im just watching it and he has only bought up some pigs himself so that he can then take them to the slaughter house to be served in his restaurant so he can assure they are the best meat possible.
Im so disgusted, I had to turn it off straight away, how cruel, I know it happens but the TV programme doesnt need to show us the pigs happy in his garden and show us giving them love and affection when he is going to have them killed on the programme! :boohoo:
Answer:
To each his/her own. I have to say it doesn't bother me. I would rather eat a happy, loved pig than a sad "battery-type" one.
Answer:
eh? I get that you might not want to see it, but I think its a good thing to show that the pigs were kept in good conditions, well looked after loved even before they were slaughtered. The prog is a repeat -and if my memory serves me correctly, GR didn't find it a particulalry pleasant experience - however, there was a valid point to be made - much in the same way as Jamie Oliver did in his schools programme abotu food e.g. chickens don't get born on platic seets without feathers cling wrapped - they are live birds, killed for consumption by us.
As a meat eater, I find this type of 'educational' media /progs about our food healthy. Doesn't mean its nice to watch, I know - I just can't see how it was cruel :(
Answer:
I'm a great believer that if you eat meat you should be prepared to see and accept that they do 'live' and are killed.
I watched Kill it, cook it, eat it on BBC Three - it wasn't pretty and was upsetting but i'd feel a bit of a hypocrite as a meat eater if i wanted to 'blank' that bit out.
ETA: Agree with GGi too that i'd be happy that the pigs had such a good environment to live in while they were alive.
Answer:
I do completely agree that it is much better that they had a nice life before they died, I just dont see how he could do it. I cant imagine killing my pets which is what they had grown to be to him.
It just upset me a little. :boohoo: Im not good with things like that at all.
ETA: Reading my post back now I do sound rather daft for complaining that they had a happy home, perhaps didnt get my point across as was completely stunned at the time of writing it. Just wasnt expecting to be taken to a slaughter house on Gordon Ramsey!

Answer:

By sheer coincidence Glitterjunkie has bought it today too! Hooray!! :yay:
I'll post pics when it arrives hun :)
Answer:
That's pretty good, I bought a Warehouse dress from Ebay that had been worn once too and was pretty chuffed with the saving really since it was as good as new and their dresses can be a bit on the expensive side.
Actually, given the way my spending has been lately, I only want to see pics if you can guarantee me there's no more lurking on ebay that I can get my grubby paws on - I'm bound to want it when I see real-life piccies! :cmdunno: :D

 Naughty RB! I don't think there are anymore on the bay , I was bidding on one last night but gave up when it reached £52 as with the pp added on it wouldnt be much cheaper than finding one in Warehouse. So I think you are safe chick! :D
