Same dress on
I went into Soho for my hair cut on Saturday, and because of the lovely weather I finally got to put a new dress that I brought from Topshop, I have brought the dress over a month ago and only seen one person in it. But on Saturday I bumped into 2 girls wearing the same dress, one in different colour and the other one she had jeans on with it, I just don’t know to laugh or cry!! :o
Anyone had the same experience?
Answer:
I always dread that happening in a confined place like a wedding or a club. Otherwise if I just pass someone in the street I don't mind so much.
Last year, I was in a queue in a cafe and could see what I thought was my reflection but it turned out to be a girl the same height with the same hair wearing the same top as me. It was only when I noticed she was wearing jeans and I was wearing a skirt, that I realised it wasn't me!

  very funny
About having the same dress:
I think that with clothes bought in high streets stores it can happen quite often. To me it happened with a t-shirt.
Ball gowns/prom dresses
NO.2. ask :
Ball gowns/prom dresses
Hello!
I'm off to a summer ball in September and am trying to sort out a dress sooner rather than later. I've drawn up a bit of a blank (partly because I hate going into town I think!) and can't think of any good websites to check. I've found a couple on eBay that I like, but am a bit loathe to bid on them because the seller either doesn't do returns, or I'll have to pay a restocking charge and return postage.
Can anyone help me out with some ideas? I will consider either ball gown or cocktail length, but I don't want a black dress. I'm 5'11" and a size 12 if that's any help. I have a budget of up to £150 for the dress.
TIA :)

Hi
Here's a few ones:
Answer:
Monsoon, Warehouse and Debenhams are always a good bet - I love these Warehouse ones
(I know you said you don't want black, but this also comes in a lovely green-y colour - I can't find it on the website but it may be in-store!)
I think you've got to be quite careful with the high street though, especially if you live in a small place with limited shops - it'd be awful if another girl turned up in the same dress
A few girls in my year also got dresses from local bridal shops for our prom a few years back - they did some lovely satin bridesmaid dresses, very slinky and not at all meringue-like
Answer:
Thanks for all the suggestions there are some beauties there! Unfortunately, speaking to Monkey's brother, mess policy is full length, so that's going to limit my choices a bit.
Luckily, its a military ball in Germany, so I think the liklihood of someone in the same dress is fairly slim! Oooh I can't wait! I love getting dressed up!
I think i might just have to bid on the ebay one, as I won't get to the shops until fri and the listing finishes on the 6th :faint:
Gold Shoes
NO.3. ask :
Gold Shoes
I need a pair of gold shoes to wear to a wedding in July - pale/antique gold though not bright shiny. I'm not very good in high heels so nothing too high.
These from Topshop would have done the job but they are sold out in my size
Has anyone seen anything else that matches my difficult specifications?
Answer:
Do they have to be sandals SD?
I love the cracked gold courts from office. I can't find a picture of them on the site, bt they def had some in store in the last week or so. There are quite a few gold shoes on the office site too. :D
Answer:
No, they don't have to be sandals - something I can walk in without looking like Bambi on ice is my main priority. I had looked on the Office website and couldn't see anything suitable but I'll try the shops.
Answer:
M S have some nice sandals and shoes in pale gold with low to medium heels.

Thanks for that - I'll look in there tomorrow too - their shoes do tend to be pretty comfortable too.
Advice needed for a wedding outfit
NO.4. ask :
Advice needed for a wedding outfit
I'm after some advice on accessorising a dress for my brother's wedding.
I'll be wearing this dress with a short sleeved white jacket. I'm planning on wearing red court shoes () and a chunky red necklace to inject a bit of colour, but don't know what colour bag to go for, and whether to wear any other jewellery - a bangle or ring perhaps?
Any suggestions or advice would be great!
Answer:
Hi
I really like your dress :)
IMO since the prevailing colour is the white and you 'll wear red shoes and necklace (I wouldn't wear other jewellery) you could wear a little red bag to recall others' accessories colour.
Answer:
Thanks! It took me ages to find a dress I liked, and turned out to be the cheapest one I'd tried on! I'll be getting two wears out of it as well, as it's my OH's brother's wedding 2 weeks after my brother's, and none of the same people will be both weddings (apart from the OH of course, but he doesn't count!).
I think you're right about no other jewellery, it might look a bit cluttered.
I was unsure about a red bag - thought it might be a bit too 'matchy', but as you said, it would help pull the outfit together.
Answer:
Pretty dress, your outfit plans sound lovey - good diea to bring some colour into it.

I'm struggling to find a red bag to go with it now - any ideas?
New dress..............
NO.5. ask :
New dress..............
I brought this dress yesterday :D
Its much nicer irl (may post a pic when I get home  ) - what shoes/accessories should I wear with it?
Thanks Bex xx
Answer:
 Hi
I think it depends where/ when you''re going to wear it but personally i'd go for silver or pewter acessories with it flats to dress it down heels to make it more glam.
Answer:
Lovely, the print is fab :)
IMO it would be nice with silver for the evening.
By day, since it has those pastel colours details, I’d wear it with white shoes and here.
Answer:
I love this dress! In fact, Mr GJ has said he'll buy me a new dress for our friend's 21st party next weekend, so I think I'm going to ask him to buy me it.
If I get it, I'm going to wear it with either silver or blue peeptoes and a pewter metallic clutch bag :great:
Answer:
Oohh, lovely dress!
I guess to play it safe shoes in the background colour would always be ok (cannot really see if it is black or dark navy?).
One of the pastel colours would be nice for flat shoes (ballerina's or sandals) for daytime.
For evening silver or gun-metal high heels would be very glam!
