My Wardrobe
Please, please will some one give me a kick up the **** and make me sort out my wardrobes and drawers!! I am generally a really tidy/organised person except for my clothes storage. I know I have heaps in there that I don't wear/doesn't fit etc. but the thought of doing it just makes me want to run for the hills.
I figure that if I sort it all out I can then update it with items that I think are missing, instead I just seem to make random purchases based on nothing. I then shove them in the wardrobe and then wonder what they'll go with cos, I can't see anything!!
Help me :boohoo:
Answer:
I have my wardrobe organised so that the right hand side holds dresses all together. Then the top left side holds tshirt sleeved tops, then vests, boob tubes and halternecks together. Longsleeved tops, then skirts and then jackets are grouped together on the bottom rail. All my woolens and jumpers are in a draw. Then once you have grouped all the different types of clothes together if you sort out dressy thing from casual things and have the dressy on the left and casual on the right, you will know exactly where to go if you want a casual vest for example :)
Answer:
Just do it!! You will find stuff you totally forgot you had and be amazed. I tend to just pull everything out in a heap on the floor. Start grabbing things and trying them on. If they fit and you wear them, or they fit but you forgot about them but can see yourself wearing them, put them carefully away. If they don't fit, or you don't wear them, or they look really worn, chuck them. DO NOT think oh but I can wear it around the house, or gardening, or anything like that. DO NOT think I'll keep it because it will fit when I get a rib removed. This is actually a surprisingly good way to tidy because you see your pile of junk getting smaller before your very eyes and it's really encouraging! Good luck.
Answer:
Thanks for your replies I do find them encouraging, so keep em coming!!
:)I know I'll feel really good when I've done it!!
We're going away soon and I have the urge to go shopping but I am determined not to buy another thing until I have sorted through everything that I already have!! :o
I think I'll find it really theraputic when I finally done it!! Plus we're supposed to be having a car boot sale, so I may even allocate a few bits to the car boot pile!!
It shouldn't even take me that long, so I don't know why I'm making such a fuss. As soon as I get home tonight, I'm going to start on one set up cupboards. If I can get that done, that should give me inspiration to move on to my other wardrobe :o and then the drawers!!
I hoping it will actually enable me to put outfits together better as I will be able to see more stuff!! :)
Work clothes
NO.2. ask :
Work clothes
I'm about to start working for a uni. What should I be wearing? I can't afford a lot of clothes right now, so what I buy for summer really needs to be stuff I can wear for work.
We all know universities are pretty laid back places, but at the same time I'm 21 and I am going to be working in a pretty male-dominated environment, and I worry about looking too "girly" and not being taken seriously.
I'd love a maxi dress, but I don't know if it would look a bit hippy-ish even if I put a demure cardi over it? Jeans and tops seems to be what most people wear in the department, but I'm just not a jeans girl. I wear skirts.
I just want to look grown up, without having to start wearing trouser suits.
Any advice? Thanks so much.
Answer:
Since people mostly wear jeans, IMO you definitely can wear skirts.
IMO a skirt with a nice top/shirt is right for any occasion, on condition that the skirt it isn't too casual or too short.
For more formal occasion you could buy some nice skirt suits

Does this make me a snob??
NO.4. ask :
Does this make me a snob??
I've wanted :heyhey: forever apart from a brief fondle in selfridges and liberty I could never afford one... but now they have it on ASOS I dont think i want it anymore.
does this make me a snob? :cmdunno:
Answer:
Just say you have exclusive tastes - that sounds much nice than snob :)
Answer:
No, I don't think so. Asos (As Seen On Screen) is all about copying celebs' clothes so if something pops up on their website it is because they are hoping to sell it mostly due to its celebrity connections. That would really cheapen something in my view as well. Hoardes of people clamouring to buy something because a certain famous person has been seen with it. I buy something because I like it, not because a certain celeb has been seen with it. I like to keep a sense of individuality as far as bags and clothes are concerned. That's not to say I'm never influenced by magazines or this forum but I am often more put off by a certain celeb wearing something than drawn to wanting to buy it. But that's just me. If Paris Hilton starting carrying Etro bags, I'd be horrified.
Answer:
*phew* teehee i loved when i saw adverts for in in vouge or The Times or somewhere. I just want to spend my days squidging it :faint:
Answer:
i'm actually a bit sceptical about the bags that asos sell. i can't speak for all the brands but considering balenciaga have a strict policy against selling their bags online i don't see how they'd supply them to asos since they only sell online. they might be getting their bags from some less than official wholesaler and who knows where they got them from.

Ha! I'm lucky to have only a window behind me, so no one can see my screen, but I don't think it's good look to be staring blankly into space with my mouth hanging open. Dead giveaway! :D

I'm too bored to even rouse myself into action :cmdunno:. I have some work to do, but it's boring. I have a bowl of fresh starwberries to finish, but I'm too bored to eat them.
I'm so bored my boredom is boring and bored too!
