Does what others wear influence you?
A bit of a strange question, but I always seem to come up against this problem.
When you're going out for a night out do you tend to find out what everyone else is wearing and then chose your outfit to fit in? Example, it's my friends 30th on Xmas eve, there's about 20 of us going out for lunch, I asked my friend what she was wearing and she said "probably something casual, jeans and a top or something." I kind of think well it's mates 30th party/christmas etc. I fancy wearing something a bit more special/dressed up!! A lot of my mates do seem to wear jeans most of the time (which don't get me wrong, they always look nice/I too like wearing jeans). I then get my Trinny and Susanah head on though and think I should wear all the other bits and pieces I've got skirts/dresses etc. rather than leaving them to gather dust!! However then I worry about perhaps being over dressed!! Arrrgghhh why do I get myself in such a tizz?? x

I tend to use my own judgement - I hate being overdressed and equally hate being underdressed, so I just usually pick something in between unless I know its definitely dressy or casual! I don't really care what others wear...I think I can judge a situation quite well with regards to what to wear.
If in doubt, you can always dress in plainer, casual clothes and dress them up with accessories and good hair/make up :)

You're right re. make-up and accessories, I do tend to use these to galm an outfit up a bit if it is a casual do!!

I am terrible at styling myself so I often use my little sis as a role model. :) If I didn't I would forever be seen in jeans jumper and trainers. :D

Following on from geek_kitten's thread, how does your OH dress and what do you think of the way he dresses?
My boyfriend dresses pretty casually most of the time as he can wear jeans or whatever for work, a huge proportion of his wardrobe is from Diesel! He used to be quite into higher end labels but that was before we met, i much prefer how he dresses now though although it would be nice to see him looking really smart once in a while!

My bf can look very smart when he wants to, when we go out he usually wears a smart shirt and jeans or trousers.
However most of the time he wears jeans and boots, and horrible baggy wool jumpers over a t-shirt. I dont mind the jeans and boots and t-shirts, but the woolly jumpers are not nice at all. When he's not wearing a jumper he wears one of those deeply unfashionable fleece jacket things (in blue, green and purple) :sick:
He also insists on wearing a horrible bright blue padded jacket that makes him look like the Michelin man. He has a perfectly nice black wool coat that he looks very smart in but he prefers to wear this nasty padded thing.
It's a good job I love him, as his fashion sense on a daily basis is non-existent (thankfully when we met he was looking smart and was NOT wearing the blue padded jacket, or else we might never have got together):lol:

My blokie is very casual. He rides a BMX (he is an adult I promise! :p ) so tends too dress quite "skater" style in skate trainers, jeans or combats, a baggy T-shirt and a hoody. On nights out he wears black jeans and a shirt and he always looks so nice as its such a change. Because he is so tall (6ft 4) and really really skinny, he finds it hard to find stuff that fits him, and always has to buy big t-shirts so they fit him in length, and jeans and trousers are never long enough! Poor sod bless him!

I like the way Mr BB dresses, he is quite casual but likes shopping and looking fashionable. He always wears Gap jeans and hoodies or nice smart jumpers, and shirts when we go out.

Went into MS yesterday and wanted just about everything in the Limited Collection. Need to show a little restraint however, so wondered what you all thought of some of them, so I can narrow my ideas down a bit. Am a curvy size 12 with v pale skin, dark hair and brown eyes. Cheers!

I bought this dress on impulse in the mango sale, as i fell in love with the brown and orange sixties pattern. Its got a round highish neck and long bell sleeves. I thought it was quite cute but Im not sure about where I would wear it .. keep or return ladies?:confused:

I am really not keen, I don't think it really does anything for your figure because of the way the skirt is cut on your hips and the length, but maybe its the angle of the camera. But I would say return, sorry. Nursie :)
