Saturday Night Outfit?
Hi All
Going out Saturday night and have decided i have NOTHING i like in my wardrobe. Nothing that big just an Uncle's party but still wanna look nice. Am going to order a few things, any opinions would be so great:
To wear with FAMK's:
1st Miss Selfridge Top
Back of 1st MS Top
2nd Miss Selfridge Top
Frill Front Shirt Dress To wear with skinnies or black tights and black flat boots (or these) - any suggestions?

I really like the first top but its a bit plain, would you be wearing jewellery with it? I also like the second top as well, but not the shirt dress, its got too much going on and the colours a bit dodgy too I think....if it were me I'd get the first top and wear beads with it, either chunky ones or lots of thinner ones and maybe even a brooch too
I wouldn't listen to me though I dunno what I'm talking about :p :o

I'm with Funkymoo (except for the bit about her not knowing what she's talking about ;) ). Top number one is great, but needs something more going on at the front, though not toooo much as the main focus of the top should be the back IYSWIM. Maybe just a brooch? Or a brooch and a bracelet?

LMAO at that title! I think someone is very interested in these boots for someone who isn't going to order them! :lol: :D
They aren't slouchy as such, but the leather 'leg-part' isn't rigid, so they do go a bit slouchy round the ankles when you wear them for a bit. You can slouch them down a bit over jeans if you wanted, but not that much, as they would probably ride back up again.
Hope that makes sense! I'm so bad at explaining things like this! If you look here you can see they do slouch at the ankle a bit when being worn, but I quite like that :)
Order them, you know you want to! You can always return them if you don't like them :)

Ahh thankyou :D Ohhhh I can't believe I am admitting this on the fashion board, but they are from cheap chav shop MK one! :o :o :D I never usually shop in there, honest guv! But I was desperate for some light blue skinnies to go with black and brown boots, as my indigo ones didnt seem to look right, and nowhere seemed to do them, until I saw these! They aren't proper skinny jeans, they're cropped ones with a turn-up, but they do for under boots and were only £18 :)

I hate Uggs and I don't like wearing trainers unless I am at the gym but I am in real need of something that is comfortable and warm - I tend to keep my impractical heels at work (the ones I can walk to the loos to in but not really much further) but my feet are so cold right now that I've posted in health about it.
Do any of you have any suggestions about boots/shoes that will be ok with thick socks and also ok for the long schlep to the tube station?
I've been looking everywhere and all I can see is ballet flats (ok, so I have succombed a couple of times - but these really weren't what I was looking for)
Can't wait till summer when I can get my birkies out of the cupboard.....

What about some flat/low heel boots. They look good with jeans in or out and skirts.

Agreed, get yourself some lovely flat boots to wear with jeans tucked in, under jeans and with skirts and tights (you can wear thick socks over the tights but under the boots to keep your feet even warmer :) ) I got some nice brown leather ones from Shelly's.
Over the next few weeks is probably a good time to look for boots, as shops will be starting to reduce things as they make room for the spring stock too.

Been looking at these two bags (turquoise and white) , kind of like both of them but have a few questions hopefully someone can help me with...
1. Could I use the turquoise one for summer? To me, the colour in the photo isn't really what I'd call turquoise, a bit darker but maybe that's just my computer screen?
2. Are the straps long enough to carry the bag on your shoulders?
3. Should I buy from lush or try to get one on ebay?
4. Is there anywhere else I can get a spy bag with straps the same colour as the rest of the bag? Either turquoise, white or cream? Sadly, fendi's not really an option!

I think you could use the turquoise one for summer or winter - it also looks dark green to me.
I don't think the straps are long enough to carry the bag on you shoulders - I think the bags should be hand held.
You could look on ebay for the bag - I guess it depends how much money you have to spend whether you buy from the lush website!

I have a rainbow one which goes easily over the shoulder even over my biggest down jacket (I live in Sweden). I also have a chocolate one that goes over my shoulder when I have a t shirt on but not when I have a coat on. So it should perhaps go over your shoulder in summer.
They do tend to be different sizes and strap lengths though - I think they have changed manufacturers so the sizes are all over the place.
With Lush the factory is in China but Lush is in the US so it is not much help asking them for measurement help I am afraid as they don't know exactly which bag will be in your parcel. However, an ebay seller should be able to measure the exact bag and tell you the strap length of the bag you will be getting.
Curls has a turquoise one - have a look on her style diary for more help. I think it looks lovely and deffo a summer and a winter must.

I have the medium turquoise one, and am awaiting delivery of the large white one :yay: (hopefully today :fingers: )
the turqoisue one is quite greeny, but its a lovely colour. The straps are only just long enough to wear it on my shoulder, and only if you're coat isn't too bulky. I'll definitely still use it in the summer.
I got the large white one from ebay, the seller seems to stock quite a few different ones from Lush. I can PM you the sellers name if you want.

I haven't worn a tie since leaving school, but I recently I was in a pub where the ladies wore a tie as part of a uniform.
