Bargainous 2 Days!
Yesterday I was mooching in the Karen Millen outlet shop and found a gorgeous purple patent bag for £25 (reduced from £120  ) and matching shoes for £59 (reduced from £130   ) also picked up a groovy bag which I can only describe as being made from gerbil fur ;) for £40 (reduced from £120    ) The mark up on Karen Millen is atrocious - I hardly ever buy anything from the proper shop any more, just hang on a few weeks and it ends up in the outlet! :yay:
And to carry on my bargain trend - Oasis are having a sale and I got the kimono style top I almost bought on Monday for £45, for £20 :)
No more shopping for me now, I'm quitting whilst I'm ahead!

In Maidstone, Kent??
Answer:
Great haul, I love getting bargains! (although it hardly ever happens to me, as I am too impatient to wait for sales and have to have things NOW!)
But...gerbil fur... Eh?! It's not real, is it?
Answer:
It's in Manchester - the Lowry Outlet Mall. Not really much there apart from KM and Molton Brown. My hairdresser is there so every 6 weeks or so I have a mooch and usually end up with a few bags :o but I tell myself it's ok as it's all reduced!
GlitterJunkie, it's not really gerbil fur (at least I hope not) it's that ponyskin material but the colour makes me think of a gerbil.. it's the about the right size for a gerbil too!

Outlet shops are fantastic!

someone posted a while back a picture from a magazine of a pretty and rather delicate pale pink dress from dorothy perkins - except it wasnt in the shop/online yet? i really wanted it but although i keep checking i havent seen it online OR irl
has anyone else a clue what im talking about? did i imagine the whole thing...:o
Answer:
1 Attachment(s) it was me!!! well i think it was!
it is this one?
i LOVE this dress and totally need it for a weddign, but ever since they've arrived online they've been sold out in my size :(
you think i can call up and ask if any stores have them in?
Answer:
I bought this online and returned it. Sad to say it looked rather cheap IRL - kind of like cheap satin pyjamas. There is a top which I think would look better but in a dress it just didn't work.:(
Answer:
ah thanks guys :) i had it in my head it was really pale pink but i must have remembered it wrong...at least i didnt imagine it!!
Answer:
have rung on DP but they've been pretty hopeless - if anyone sees this dress in a 8 or 10 anywhere around london, could they let me know so i can hunt it out?

What colours do you wear with red?
NO.3. ask :
What colours do you wear with red?
Hi
Have an imminent purchase of red leather ballet pumps in mind to wear with jeans and floaty skirts during the summer (and a cath kidston fabric bag with red flowers on it).
I don't like things to look too matchy matchy (this is the best terminology i could think of! hope you know what i mean)so would like to wear tops with it that are a contrasting but still complimentary colour. I have dark hair eyes and olive skin and like wearing lovely colours together.
I think light blue would work- any suggestions? How do you work red into an outfit?
Answer:
Red, denim, black, white light-blue...and this is where I get stuck! I can never think of any other colours to go with it, so I'm glad you started this thread!
ETA - GREY! Grey looks brilliant with red IMO :)
Answer:
ah well i break the CARDINAL RULE ;) and wear it with black (boring i know). i also think it can look really nice with dark brown or pale pink.
Answer:
Black, grey, navy, white, denim for me.
Answer:
hey, i always think teals and greens go good with red, or golds and other metalic colours too would suit ur colouring i think aswell...bronzes and rusty copper coloured items perhaps?

Am I the only one who likes these shoes?

Am I the only one who likes these shoes?
Jessica Simpson has launched her own shoe range, I think most of them are horrendous, but I love these. They are really similar to the louboutin ones which sell for hundreds!
My sis and Best chum think they are awful, but I really love them. Am I the only one on the planet?

Answer:
If the cork effect bit was snakeskin then i'd love them! Not so keen on the cork bit at all but the shape and rest of the shoes is lovely!
Answer:
I wonder why Jessica is wearing the Louboutin version in that picture
Answer:
I don't like them :( Sorry! It's the wooden sole I think...it looks like its made out of a cork-board. And probably also the fact that I can't stand Jessica Simpson, but that's beside the point!
I think they'd be nice with a normal sole, but the wooden one ruins it for me.
Answer:
The Louboutin ones only get away with it cos of that red heel - they look plain with an all-cork sole and heel.
They either look good on you or they look shit!

Hi fashion experts,
I don't think I have ever posted in fashion before, mainly because I have no sense of style whatsoever - but I really need your help. I'm going to a wedding in about a weeks time and I have anything to wear. I'm a jeans and t-shirt person so I don't possess any dresses. It's a church wedding so I have to wear something reasonably posh. I'm a size ten, early thirties, 5 ft 5 and a bit, but a really funny shape so most dresses don't do anything for me. I have a long body but dumpy legs (and I hate my knees!) and I don't have a waist as such (one of my friends told me I look like a boy from the back). I tried some dresses on at the weekend but they looked terrible - I think mainly because the style at the moment is that they hang down from the chest and I need something that pulls in at the waist - but also I feel really uncomfortable in dresses anyway. The other problem I have is a lack of boobage, I'm very flat-chested, so most styles I tried on ending up gaping around the top of the dress. I can't go too far for shopping so I can only go for the main high street shops like M S, Dotty P's, New Look, Top Shop, Debenhams and Next.
Please, has anyone got any suggestions - I don't want to embarrass my other half!!
Answer:
How about a trouser suit? It sounds like you'd feel a lot more comfortable and confident in one. Try Next, they tend to cut for the more boyish figure and have a good choice of more formal/business type wear. I'd opt for a lightish colour and pretty it up with a bright cami and accessories.
Answer:
how about a smart tuxedo style trouser suit - with wide leg trousers over high heeled shoes or boots to give your legs a look of length - smart but much more comfortable than a skirt of you arent a skirt person. wear that with a nice bodice or camisole style top and some chunky jewellery and you will look very feminine in it.
*juggs goes off to hunt the web for nice trousers........*
Answer:
Hi,
For some reason imo i prefer wearing white, and light colours at weddings. Have u thought about a trouser suit, maybe white? or a skirt and top? or you could even think about a boob tube dress with a shrug? So they push up ya cleavage and pull in ya waist? Ill have a look round for ya and post some pics if i find anything?
