sz 18 going out top to cover upper arms

NO.1. Ask :
sz 18 going out top to cover upper arms
Hi
im looking for size 18
something to cover upper arms so I can wear a vest top underneath without feeling too exposed.
don't want a sequin cape, want something different.
I'm in early 20's and blonde/blue
Have been looking on ebay and i'm not even entirely sure what I should be looking for!!
something to go with black trousers (i know - unimaginative)
just something to wear to the pub/bars really. something nice for evening and not 'frumpy'
also what colour should I get, it has to go with black trousers but ideally want something that will last into the summer.
If you have any ideas it is much appreciated.
Thankyou

Hi Lipbalmy
A little shrug or cardi always looks lovely with a vest top, and covers the upper arms - theres loads of that sort of stuff around at the moment, and not all with sequins on :) I think a light colour would be nice with your colouring, maybe a light turquoise, pink or blue? Or even a beigey colour, although you would have to be careful and add some accessories so that it didn't look too boring with black trousers.
Warehouse has this which I think is lovely - it only goes up to a size 16, but as it's a tie-style I think you could just tie it looser?
Theres a few cute cardis on the Evans website too - I can't link to them as it's a flash website, but they're under knitwear then cardis - I like the cream and grey ones!
Answer:
There are lots of nice cropped little jackets about which would go with black trousers. Take a look in the Smart Jackets section of www.dorothyperkins.com for example :)

HK Bag Lady - Making An Order
I'm about to order from Fiona for the first time but wanted some advise from you guys that have used her before...
I want my bag in tan leather and have asked her for swatches - should I wait for them or chance it? Now I've decided to go for it I'm too impatient to wait! :o ;)
    Answer:
Fiona's made me two bags and I didn't have any swatches when I ordered. I was too impatient to wait :o and both bags were gorgeous :faint: so it was worth the risk for me!
I'd say if you're not 100% on what you're ordering then wait for the swatches, but it's whatever you feel comfortable with I guess :) .
    Answer:
I've just had an email from Fiona saying she doesn't have any swatches available so she is going to email me pics.. I suppose you can't really go too wrong with a tan - can you?
Getting very excited at the prospect of yet another bag! It is definatley an addiction! :p
    Answer:
The swatches show you the variety of colours and textures available and if you are choosing a colour DEFFO wait for swatches. Mine was ostrich with leather lining and I am really glad I waited and chose from the swatches. Maybe someone with swatches can lend you some?
    Answer:

Does anyone have any to lend? I promise I will send them back. :)

Is EVERYONE going to be wearing the Galaxy this Xmas....
... or do you think it is still okay to get one? I don't want to walk into a party and see every woman in the place with one on.... whaddya think?
    Answer:
Doesn't bother me - it's how you wear it and accessorise it - you could turn up at a party and someone might be wearing the same dress as you at any time, not just with the Galaxy (even though it is pretty popular...). I'm banking on no baggers being at my parties!!
    Answer:
    Overkill I'd say.
Saw three girls out together last night and two of them had a galaxy on. I'd buy a dress and wear it next year if you really like it!
    Answer:
I reckon everyone will be wearing it sorry, girls aloud and the market stalls have cottoned on which pretty much kills a look for me....
I'd do a variation, perhaps get a pencil skirt and work something around that but in a unique way.
    Answer:
I reckon everyone is going to be wearing it too :( That said if you like it wear it or save it for next year like dots said!
I love the dress but reguardless of what dress it is i'd hate to walk into a do and see a few people in the same frock.

    boots stain
admit I bought a pair of imitation suede boots in the New Look sale for a tenner so probably deserve this but... every time I wear them they leave dark stains up my legs which are a pain to remove without scrubbing my legs raw! Can't wash them as they'll ruin is there anything I can do (bar long socks!)
    thank youuu x
ETA: Hi by the way! Haven't posted before sort of just jumped in there! x
    Answer:
    Hiya, welcome to fashion :D
Can't really think of anything you could to - unless you washed them in the washing machine to remove any excess dye? Otherwise maybe take them back, and tell New Look they're faulty and you want a refund!
    Answer:
    thanks for the welcome :)
think I may be resigned to wearing them under trousers or with tights/stockings then, what a pain in the bum I lost the receipt so can't take them back now but thanks for the help!
