How much would you pay for a corset?
Hey Baggers...
I am currently making a corset for myself and it's going surprisingly well :yay: I am reasonably good at sewing having got an A* in textiles at GCSE and am willing to make a few more trial corsets to get my skills polished. After that I am considering turning it into a little business venture and selling them maybe on ebay or just through friends. Do you think they would sell? And how much would you be willing to pay for a homemade corset? Would you pay more for a made to measure service?
Ally
Answer:
I know a couple of people who have bought made to measure corsets for special occassions/weddings and they paid about £80-£100 I think.
These were for outerwear rather than underwear though - is that what you're thinking?
Answer:
From a professional company i would pay upto £200, but for a home made one probably £100. I would pay more if i knew you had a good reputation for quality, hard wearing items. Good luck :)
Answer:
I paid about £100 for mine from a boutique which they import from France and it was not made to measure. It was made of silk and was properly boned. really gives me the cleavage factor.
then I brought one from River Island for about £70 but was not the quality.
Think as long as its high quality material and wont date then people will spend a bit.
if you do make them - really would love a emerald green coloured one!!!!
Answer:
I have two! I don't really wear them that often but I do love them the shape they give me. One is a full over-boob corset I've had for about 5 years cost me £145 from a good company, it is very well made the boning is very heavy, not the flimsy stuff you get in some cheaper versions. I bought the other one earlier this year from a corset maket on ebay (after doing a little research). That one is an underbust style cost me £70 is well made but the boning isn't quite as heavy duty as the other one.
Nearly forgot to add: My ebay corset was a made to measure style (as was my first). This is really useful for me as I'm only 5ft tall most corsets are too long for me.

I am a lurker on here mainly so hi!!
I am going to Ibiza in Sept for a long w'end of serious clubbing.
I will be going to Space Amnesia for def...and hopefully Pacha. I want to be comfy, but also look cool! so if anyone has been recently (or going soon!) what stuff will you be wearing?
Many thanks
Bethy x
Answer:
Oh Dear!
Not really into that Ibiza-clubbing scene as it is such a beautiful island to explore otherwise, but mostly I would say from what I have seen, people wear very little ie.bikini top and shorts/skirts/jeans! Less is more there! :o
Have a ball and enjoy the weather! ;)
Answer:
my colleague just got back this morning and said it is full of beautiful people in hotpant suits, gypsy skirt and tube tops with big sunnies and cowboy hats!
Answer:
Mimi's off there soon so maybe you could ask her what she's taking as she will no doubt look fabulous the whole time!!

I think there have been a few threads recently on the subject, so perhaps do a search?
My Dress !
NO.3. ask :
My Dress !
My lovely, gorgeous, utterly fabulous Pucci dress has arrived from NAP and its a perfect fit (although I have to get one of those straps that pull your bra straps together at the back as its a bit cut-away) and I am so SOOO happy !:yay:
the colours look great on me and now I just need to accessorise it - I am going to get a fuschia fascinator which I need to have for an event at the end of the year anyway so if I think its too OTT with the dress I will wear my black fascinator.
I have a beautiful very fine silk knit (almost a gauze) shrug from Nocturne which I shall wear with it (its a 5:00pm wedding and then an all-night party).
and I shall look at an evening bag and shoes that pick out one of the colours in the dress. probably fucshia patent shoes (if I can find such a beast) and a little black evening bag (which I already have).
of course, this being NAP, I am having to send this dress back because it has arrived with snags in the fabric:rolleyes: but I am getting them to send me my replacement before I send this one back as if I have to I will wear the snagged one !
(sorry for the rather excessive use of exclamation marks - but I'm very happy !!! )
and now I can go ahead with my detox weekend because I don't have to trawl the shops !
Answer:
Well done elliecat - you will look stunning.
Answer:
Sounds great!
Answer:
Really excited for you. I've just been browsing on NAP and I'm not sure whch one your dress is but all the Pucci stuff is gorge.
It's so classic as well. You'll be able to wear it for years!

Answer:

URGENT help needed with shoes
NO.5. ask :
URGENT help needed with shoes
I bought these gorgeous peep toe suede shoes from Dune at the weekend and planned on wearing them tomorrow night..... so as a test run that they would be comfortable I wore them yesterday and have hit a problem!!!
As the back of the shoe is shaped and cut quite low plus being peep toe, my heel slips out of the shoes as I walk..... even though they are the correct size..... so I popped a couple of leather heel grips in the back but it makes no differrence ..... just pushes my toes further through the peep toe bit and they still slip off.....
Would it help if I put an insole in the shoe, or would that just make the back lower and slip even more???
IS THERE A SOLUTION ???????? I hope so, the shoes are SOOOOOOOOOO gorgeous!!
Jx
Answer:
Maybe try some of the scholl party feet as I find they stop my feet sliding forward - maybe they'll work by pushing your foot further back but you may find you'll need the heel grips too.
Answer:
:( I tried those too, but didn't help. ........... *sigh*

Answer:
Scholl also do half-insoles to stop your feet slipping forward. They're not very attactive, but I found them fantastic for those scholl wooden sandals - and you can cut them to size and them have an adhesive strip on the back to keep them in place. I got mine at Boots, but they're not on the site.
