olive green dress - what colour shoes?
Hi all you baggers :-)
I have recently bought this gorgeous olive green satin dress from Coast for both a wedding and christening this summer. It is calf length and strappless and I need your help with what will go with it, both shoe-wise and accessory-wise. I'm blonde, average hight/ build and really am looking for ideas/ inspiration for what I should be looking for. If anyone has bought a similar dress please tell me what you put with it.
Cheers

Answer:
Sounds lovely - and I nominate antiquey bronzey-gold - round/peep-toes? x
Answer:
i second that suggestion!
or like the idea of a fuschia coloured pair!
Answer:
I'm thinking a pair of bronze or gold round toe strappy t-bar shoes.try Topshop/newlook or Faith for the best ones what accessories were you planning on wearing or do you have any pictures of the dress?
Answer:
For a more classic style, I'd go for metallics - gold, silver or bronze.
For more funk, how about bright canary yellow, or acid orange? There's a small photo-article in the new InStyle (Kate HUdson on the cover) about wearing bright shoes to jazz up your outfit.

On these boots! I really like them, although I'm sure that they won't be to everyone's taste - they're just very 'me' somehow! I like pairing floaty skirts with tough boots in a/w and these fit the bill perfectly.
BUT
Given that I'm probably going to get a pair of black buckled pirate boots, and those gorgeous black Topshop strappy ankle boots, can I really justify buying another pair? Especially as they aren't instore and I want them now :o so would have to order them and pay postage! And also, are they likely to date badly? Personally I think they're likely to date better than the buckled pirate boots, but that could just be me...
Any thoughts much appreciated!

Answer:
I usually love great big boots like that. But there's something about them I don't really like. They just look too workmen/stable worker for me.
I think if they were completely flat without all the black grip sole they'd be better.
Answer:
I think that's probably what I like about them :o I already have a fairly similar black pair which I love and have worn to death...
I should really wait to see them in the flesh before deciding, I know!

Where are they from Geek?
If you like them and are a big boots wearing in the Autumn/Winter like me then i would say go for it!
Answer:
I think with the right outfit they'd look good on but I'm not sure about the heel either.
If you like them, go for it! That's the most important thing
Help! Boots problem
NO.4. ask :
Help! Boots problem
Just seen some lurvely boots in Topshop, but they're pull-on instead of having a zip, and no matter how much I try I just can't seem to get into them.
I do not have large legs by any stretch of the imagination. Thick ankles, yes, fat legs, no. And my ankles are never as wide as my foot anyway, so why can't I squeeze the damn things on? I always get stuck when I try to squeeze my foot into the actual foot of the boot.
Am I missing something here? I can't be the only size 8 person who has this problem?
Any baggers know of any tricks to get into them? Or anywhere that still makes boots with zips in? Am looking for a flat black pair of over-the-knee ones...
Answer:
Oh it's so annoying when that happens...
You can get boots stretched by cobblers but they usually don't offer any guarantee that they'll turn out the right fit so it's a bit risky.
There are lots of lovely boots out there though, and plenty with zips up the sides, which are always much easier to put on.
I saw these in Office the other day and they were lovely. They are still pull-ons, but looked quite wide.

Hope you find your dream booties! :)
Answer:
I find that if you wear pop socks it makes them slide on easier. I have a pair of boots like that but have found that over time they have stretched out a bit
Answer:
I think you have the same problem as me. I have been told I have a high instep, which means the arch of my foot is quite tall. It means that pull on boots are virtually impossible to wear. :(
However ballerinas are meant to have high insteps, (never been one myself) but if you have problems, just put it down to your dancing feet!

Answer:
High insteps? I've never heard of that causing this problem, but I've got them, so maybe... What a bummer, though.
Think I'll give the pop sock thing a go and hope that works.
Thanks!
The weekend - what are you wearing?
NO.5. ask :
The weekend - what are you wearing?
I am quite excited about the weekend as am off tomorrow (:yay: ) so thought I would be a bit cheeky, and start this thread now!
I am going to the Big Chill after work tonight (assuming I survive the cycle ride home with a 40 litre coolbag, a primus stove, a large umbrella and a caping pots and pans set  )... so will be wearing cutoff to the knee denim shorts I think, vest and flip flops.
Then for the weekend, I have my all in one grey short suit, white short shorts and pink UO elasticated boob tube, my missoni rip-off mango green/blue boob tube, white bikini, and big flowery sheer blouse from Public Beware Ltd in Brick Lane.. All accessorised with lots of beads, bangles, massive shades and flip flops!
I am hoping for good weather as you can tell. If not, I have a cagoule, wellies and a big jumper, just in case :)
What are the rest of you lovely ladies up to this weekend, and what will you be wearing?
Answer:
I'm off out tonight to meet friends (almost weekend!) so wearing what I am in at work - Black New Look flipflops, black UO gauchos, Brown weave belt, slate v-neck t, Tea/ blue beads and gold TS shopper.
Then I'm going to The End tomorrow night - shamefully I think I am going to wear exactly what I wore out last Friday as it worked in a not too dressed up way - Teal UO top, same beads, same belt, probably my TR Joeys and wedges. We are going for a picnic in Brockwell Park first so I will wear whatever I wear tomorrow for work, and then dash home and change before we head out.
Saturday I'm going to a 30th birthday party - it's supposed to be school uniform theme but I think I will give that a miss and wear my Shelleys Gold basket heels, black Reiss shorts, same belt, a teal and gold lace cami (UO), and cream shrug (and probably the same beads!)
Sunday I think I will just recover!

betty ford, I haven't been to the end in AGES, but we are thinking of going next saturday. I would be interested to see what you thought :)
Answer:
I'm spending the weekend settling my new cats in so probably jeans and a vest top all weekend!
Answer:
Will do - I haven't been since Dec 2003 but I am sure that it won't have changed that much!
