tutu
NO.2. ask :
tutu
im going to a fairly fancy fundrasing dinner in a few weeks, and i need a new dress/skirt+top combo...i spotted a red tutu and i just want your opinions on it...i was thinking of teaming it with a camisole or something. i usually like to wear something different on these occasions, but i want to know will i look cheap, or chic?
Answer:
Er...when you say a 'tutu', do you actually mean one of these:
If yes, then I think it will definitely be 'too much' and personally, I wouldn't wear one of those outside a dance studio. :o
Otherwise, perhaps you could post a pic of what you mean by a 'tutu'.
:)
Answer:
I have a tutu style skirt from HM which I really like and wear loads! I think it depends on what you wear with it as to whether it will look cheap or chic- colours etc I think would be very important. I think that black would go really well with red andd make the skirt really stand out. Can you post some pics?
Answer:
I'm guessing she might just mean a full skirt made up of lots of layers of tulle. At least I hope so ! I saw a lovely pale grey-ish blue one of those, actually it was a dress, and the top was a satin camisole-type thing, and it looked lovely, so I'd say do it !
Answer:
if it is actually a dance style tutu then I would say don't wear it to a fairly fancy dinner, unless you particularly want to come across as 'different'. That kind of outfit would maybe be great clubbing but not so good in a formal situation.
If, however, you mean a tutu like the skirt that SJP wore in the last ever SATC, where she ran into big, then you should definitely wear it ;)
Pics would be great though.
Anyone seen anything similar?
NO.3. ask :
Anyone seen anything similar?
Hi, I've got a black tie do coming up, and have got to get myself some new shoes. Has anything seen anything similar to these around on the highstreet, but in a slingback? I think they would be too clumpy as a shoe.
Thanks!
x ohara
Answer:
I haven't seen anything similar, but just wanted to say that I :throb: those shoes!
Answer:
they are nice arn't they?
I'm just after some black slingback peeptoes (I don't really like the fussy pompom thing on the front), with a bit of a platform, but I cant seem to find anything around

Answer:
my sister just got a pair just like that from the faith website. They are in the "new in section".
Answer:
do you mean these ones ? I saw them before - thats the shape I'm after, but without the bow and a bit of a platform, as they are they are a little too fussy for the dress I'm wearing. Nice though.
Picky, moi?

Tweed pencil skirt??
NO.4. ask :
Tweed pencil skirt??
Does anyone know where i can buy a tweed pencil skirt that wont break the bank, there are a few on ebay but need it for Saturday night so am hoping to get one in Leeds tomorrow.
Answer:
I think that the usual suspects, Topshop, MS, DP, French Connection etc., all have their own version of the tweed pencil skirt - you're best getting yourself out there and just hitting all the highstreet shops.
:D
Answer:
Warehouse have one in the new in section online if that's any help to you?
Maternity Coat suggestions
NO.5. ask :
Maternity Coat suggestions
Hi
I really need some help with a winter coat. I am 6 months pregnant and am looking for something warm (and smart) for the winter months as there doesn't seem to be any proper maternity coats. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas or had seen any nice capes or the like.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
Essie x
Answer:
Don't get me started on this!!! I'm almost 5 months pregnant and have nothing to wear this winter. I've a couple of wrap cardies but it's so cold today, I was freezing!! I bought a big faux fur cross over scarf but I still need a coat.
the only one I've seen is a cape on Isabella Oliver's website - but it's £110 and doesn't really look that nice....
Answer:
Yep, I saw that one it doesn't even look warm.
Answer:
i bought a black single breasted big buttoned coat from DPs a couple of weeks ago.
my logic was that:
a. i'm never going to get a coat to do up around my bump
and
b. if i *did* then i'd look like a tent on legs
c. black is slimming and very a/w
d. a cape would look really wrong (imo) i can imagine it making you look like a bubble on legs (or, point b.) and having a very chilly derriere
e. I can accessorize with a big bright bag/chunky scarf/gloves/boots
i figured i can just put up with it for a few more months, and just layer it up underneath. i get so blimmy flushed half the time, that, for e.g. today, i'm LOVIN this cold crisp weather whilst all of my colleagues are bemoaning it :D
Answer:
I do agree about the cape, I'd look like a triangle! am going to dig my last year's winter coats out and try em on I think..
