what type of skirt will suit me?
Hi!
I'm trying to get away from wearing jeans all the time during the day, and to start wearing skirts, but tbh I haven't got a clue what types of skirt to look for! I know certain body shapes are meant to avoid some skirt types, does anyone know what these are?
Im about 5ft5, size 10, slim waist and flat stomach, but I do have quite heavy thighs, and there is no avoiding my hips!! I'm looking for day time skirts, about knee length. Anyone know what sort of shape I should go for? Or shapes I should particulary avoid? I want to de-emphasis my lower half, if that makes any sense

I have thighs and always stick with a line skirts, whether they be short or longer :)
Answer:

Answer:
I think you'd look good in a pencil skirt with a flat stomach.

Yep those are the ones, don't taper in, aren't straight just gently flare out :)

O/T: Name change upon marriage?
NO.4. ask :
O/T: Name change upon marriage?
Sorry for such an off-topic post! I just thought it would be easier to ask here as the boards move quickly and I know more people here than on the other boards :o Mods, please be lenient... :p
I got married two years ago and am finally getting round to changing my documents to reflect my married name
I've decided to go down the double-barrelled route as I don't want to lose my maiden surname. I understand that I don't need a deed poll to achieve this and that most (if not all) organisations will accept my marriage certificate as proof of the name change.
However, I don't particularly like the title 'Mrs' and would prefer to be called 'Ms'.
So the question is: is it appropriate to have a double-barrelled surname but still call yourself 'Ms'? I've always thought that using 'Ms' was an option to be used with your maiden surname if you preferred your marital status to remain neutral (although I don't know where I got that from)?
Any help would be appreciated :D
Cheers!

I remember stumbling across something very similar in Weddings not so long ago so it might be worth doing a search there. If you can't find it, and don't get any joy here, I'm sure someone in Weddings would know what to do.
And I would have no problem having a double-barrelled name and referring to myself as Ms, even if I were married. But I know nothing about these things!

Answer:
I wouldn't worry about being Ms double-barrelled.
You can be born chillipadi double-barrelled and still want to call yourself Ms. IYSWIM.
Answer:
Hi geek_kitten!
I've done a search in Weddings but can't find anything relevant - I did think there had been something there but perhaps the thread/s got culled (either that or I'm using all the wrong search terms!)?
I'll ask in Weddings later if no one here knows.

I don't think the search function is working very well at the moment.
Best place to buy a pashmina
NO.5. ask :
Best place to buy a pashmina
Hi,
Where do you all buy your pashminas.
I have a black one i was given as a present but i'm going on holiday in just over a week and want to take a few different colours with me for the plane and evening.
Where is good to get them. Bit late maybe to buy of the internet unless anyone know a somewhere with quick delivery.
Any suggestions would be appreciated but i don't have too much to spend so i doubt i can afford a really good one.
Thanks

Answer:
www.mypashmina.co.uk and www.pashmina-pashminas.co.uk are very good and deliver very quickly. For a good size silk/cashmere mix (the best IMO) they cost around £40 for a decent sized one :)
Answer:
Thanks, both, such quick replies. I'll take a look now.
