I have been a 'lurker' forever so I thought I would just say hello!
I do 'lurk' on a lot of boards but I tend to be on Fashion most.
I am in desperate need of an image change and this board is just soooo helpful. I have been reading lots of the threads and stealing ideas!
You all seem super stylish and very friendly, so I hope y'all don't mind me joining in!
I am preparing myself for lots of shopping and becoming quite poor, well dressed, but poor! ;)
I am not the slimmest of girls, but I am hoping to sort that out too, so then I can buy even more fabulous things!
If I start to post as well as 'lurk' , I will become even more addicted to here then I already am! That will not help me achieve more at work ..hey ho - nevermind!

One thing I would say is: buy something to make you look fabulous NOW. If you keep saying "I'll buy nice clothes when I'm thin" you will find that you're never thin enough and you always want to lose that little bit more before going shopping. If you buy something to look great at your current weight, it will give your more confidence :)

yeah I know what I said about next in the other thread, but I thought i'd post for those that are interested that Next have now got a metallic gold shopper for sale, similar to the ones they did in topshop oasis... looks quite nice and probably a bit cheaper, but I didn't have a close look or check the price out.

whoops, was supposed to mention that... at a glance I assumed they weren't leather. Looks alot like the distressed oasis one they had a little while back, which they now do a silver one instead.
Mind you, I think the oasis one is quite good value at £25.

I'm looking for a new pair of shoes for work. I always wear flats for work as I'm notoriously bad with heels. I do fancy something with a bit of a heel though so I thought of trying wedges. I'm looking for a pair of black wedge shoes with a heel height of 2 inches absolute maximum, 1.5 inch would probably be better. So, I thought before I go trawling round all the shops I'd ask you guys if you've seen anything out there that might fit the bill.
I know you're the people to ask.

Haven't spotted any shoes that fit the bill but Next definitely had some low-wedge black ankle boots if that's any good. Hope you find some!

I find that with clarks i can wear them slightly higher than normal cos they are so well made i find them comfier cos i cant wear heels normally but i just bought a pair of boots from there which are 2.75ins heels.
I tend to find IMO that if you want heels, be prepared to pay a little more as they are better made which makes them more comfy which is why i refuse to buy shoes from places such as NL, TS etc as i find them so uncomfortable

I have to agree with Ipswich Shoe Gal. I've bought 'cheap' shoes a couple of times and have only been able to wear them once as they kill my feet. With shoes you definatley get what you pay for.
I think after your advice re Clarks shoes I'll at least go to the shop and try a pair on. Keep your fingers crossed for me.
