Belted Capes

NO.1. Ask :
Belted Capes
Does anyone know where I can find a black belted cape - v Doris Day, waist length, ideally not cropped.
Sorry if this has been done recently - I've been on my holibugs (nowhere hugely exciting unfortunately - only Ireland, although I did manage to find a gorge dress in A-Wear. They also had a lush tweed cape but it was lined in brown and I really need it to go with all my black things)
Thanks!

Hey katkinn!
Not sure whether they had black ones, but I did see some belted capes in Gap at the weekend. The store I went to isn't massive, so they might have a bit more of a range if you have a look in a bigger store........
HTH! :D xx

Sorry for hi-jack, but my Mum bought this cape and i can't wait to borrow it ;)
What dress did you get??? I don't normally buy any dresses in Awear (except a fab brown wrap dress last year, and the same one i black!)
Answer:
Just a quickie from me before bed, but I looked in a big local Gap today, and yes, they do have black ones in quite a nice chunky textured material. :)

    Buying two
If you find something that fits perfectly, do you always buy two of them? Obviously not with things like evening wear, but things like basic tops, maybe jeans etc.
    Answer:
Yep, I do. Tend to do this a lot with Hennes stuff.
    Answer:
Yes, I tend too especially the basics/staples
    Answer:
i've never found anything that perfect, though i often get a varying colour or something in one thing if i particularly like it or its particularly comfy.
i always wish i'd got two pairs of my fueraventura tracksuits because you can cut the legs to size and all other trackies are too long on me :(
i always buy loads of the same underwear - bras in particular. and inevitably buy jeans again and again if they're comfy / right length etc...
    Answer:
I do with white tops purely because I am guaranteed to drop something that stains down it on the first wear.

I have been invited last minute for a formal "work do" next week. It has a formal black tie affair. It has to be a dress. I have no idea where to begin. What dress? Apparently has to be respectable but I don't want to be dull either but I don't want to the talk of the industry either. Now do I sound like a cliche?:( What shoes? Bag? I am totally clueless and it is less than a week to sort it all out.
Money wise - not too expensive.
    HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Answer:
Go somewhere like TK Maxx, get a nice plain knee length-ish dress and wear some nice silver sandals + clutch bag + jazz it up with some nice jewellery :)
    Nice n easy! ;)
    Answer:
How about getting a personal shopper at, say, Selfridges? At least that would take a lot of the footwork out of it and everything is under one roof there.
I would go a for a beautiful, well cut simple evening dress (I think there are a few on NAP at the moment) and dress it up with fab shoes and accessories/bag. I think for blacktie you will need a gown rather than a knee-length dress.
As it's a work do, you would still want to look polished and professional, so perhaps a deeper colour like midnight or plum or a rich green?
    Answer:
Having said that, I adore this DvF dress, and you'd get more than one wear out of it. It would be fab with a statement necklace and killer heels
    from NAP
    Answer:
Or this Milly dress, also NAP?

    River Island Slash Neck Top
I was just browsing through eBay, and someone is selling it (apparantly brand new) size 14. I don't know if that's your size? Just thought I'd let you know. :)
    Answer:
Oooo thank you i'll go search now :) Got a feeling a 14 may be too big but if it's going cheap :D
