Juicy Couture - evil fur peddlers!!

NO.1. Ask :
Juicy Couture - evil fur peddlers!!
Just wanted to vent my anger - perhaps better suited to be done on an animal rights forum but I don't want to preach to the choir.
Am absolutely furious and hurt that Juicy, with their inherent "philosophy for happy living" and all that about caring for your chihuahua in the cosiest of mobile living quarters can do this.
I'm probably quite late in discovering this but I was just browsing eBay and came across a rabbit fur hoodie. Turn to shopbop and I discover mink pouch bags. Not content with having had slaughtered mink, the fur's been dyed!!! Even the most pro-fur gatherings should agree that if you're going to dye it, what's the point?
J-Crew are doing the same, too apparently. Fur from China too which is even more abhorrent, as China has not one single law in place to prohibit animal cruelty.
Thanks for the sounding off, now for some heated letter writing!
Answer:
It angers me too. I don't wear fur, never have and I never will. Designers will stop using fur when people stop buying it. That's how I see, and I hope one day my wish comes true.
Please don't shout at me fellow (pro-fur) baggers, only expressing my opinion...
Answer:
Hi Lost, thank you for those words :)
I would love a pro-fur bagger to think of a justification for dyed fur though! I don't want to offend anybody either but I thought it would be important to let people know if they weren't aware. Even buying the velour tracksuits fuel the Juicy fur trade with revenue. It's really sad to find this out! I have bought a couple of synthetic, replica Juicy bags and really like them. I never hesitated in telling people to save loadsa money and buy fakes and fortunately people followed my example. Now however I don't want to advertise the name in big garish letters - you never know who could see it and go and end up with a fur hoodie off the back of it!
Answer:
True, but the sad thing is that it's not just Juicy Couture (obviously) that's doing it. I mean if Heather Mills McCartney can't even get through to J-Lo, then there's no hope really.
I'm proud to say that I don't even own one designer garment or accessory - I choose not to, because quite simply, I don't know which designers (bar Stella McCartney) do and don't use animal skin.
It's a sad age we live in, where we kill animals for "fashion".
Answer:
:)
I have so much admiration for you! I must admit, I am in limbo with designer vs. cheaper, potentially sweat-shop laboured production.
Do you know when or if Stella McCartney's range is in HM yet? The answer to the dilemma!!!

    NO.2. ask :
    Hip measurements
ok, I am going to sounds so thick here, but where exactly are the hips meant to be measured for size? I really don't have a clue!
    Thanks,
    x ohara
    Answer:
I think hips are meant to be at your widest part of your pelvis, where you can feel the little bones poking out each side! I reckon hipster jeans should come in hip measurements - I am a size 27" waist but 35" hips so I end up buying size 12 instead of 8-10!
    Answer:
I always thought hip measurements was around the widest part of your bum...?
    Answer:
    Oh.
    That makes me 32-27-38.
    The swingest pear in town!!
    Answer:

you see this is where I get confused! I always thought it was the widest part of bum as well, but surely that doesnt go with the old 'child bearing hips' thing
