Hen do, theme - Moulin Rouge! What to wear?
Hi, Im due to go on a hen do soon in Newcastle and can't wait!
But the question is what to wear on the cheap? Been looking at corsets but they are sooo expensive
Any ideas? :)
Answer:
didnt someone go to one recently from here? i think it might have been karina but i could be wrong, maybe you could pm her and ask? or do a search?
Answer:
Fishnets, feather boa, stilettos for accessories?
As to clothing... hmm, corset would look cool. Maybe you could try Ebay?
Answer:
I agree with Squigy. Go all out especially with the acessories. There are some lovely corsets around. If tou're brave enough, maybe a cute mini with very high shoes. Makeup would be red red lips, smoky eyes with tons of mascara. Dressing up is fun!!!:hatparty:Above all, be comfortable and enjoy yourself!
Answer:
If you have a sewing machine, or know anyone with one, they (corsets) are not actually that hard to make, you just need four panels, each lined, sew to eacher but leaving one side open, add eyelets and ribbon (You can get proper instructions/patterns though :p )
Pretty Ballerinas pumps?

Pretty Ballerinas pumps?
Any of you ladies tried/have them? Any opinions? I was just looking at the website as I want a silver pair. They seem pretty expensive but some designs are rather cute.
Answer:
You talking about the French Sole ones?
Answer:
Duh, forgot to include a link. No, they are not French Sole - www.prettyballerinas.com
Answer:
They look no different to the many different French soles ones - all sold out in my size so that's left money in my wallet!
Answer:
I don't usually like ballet flats but there's some gorgeous ones!
These cracked silver ones are quite cute :)

Answer:
Nope but JEEZ she's a skinny minnie
Answer:
She has to keep hauling her top up because she doesn't have any boobs to hold it up. Sad, she looked so much better before.
Answer:
God, the comments on that forum made me roll my eyes repeatedly! "Oh my gaaaaaaaawd, she's looks like totally gorgeous!!!!! Like absolutely adorable! "
Purleeese stick a chicken drumstick in her mouth and send her on her merry way!
Answer:
Mothercare?
Really. It looks like a tie-dyed romper-suit and about the right size too.

mellymel needs YOU!
Hi everyone,
I see all the usual suspects have been hereging away on here for a while, I've not been around because a) I adopted a dog and then b) 2 days later split up with my partner of 4 years!!
So life has been pretty stressful for the past few weeks :(
However, I've met a cute guy (possible toyboy material for a bit of a rebound fling as he is 5 years younger than me!! :p ) and I desperately need an overhaul in the looks department!
I am planning a new haircut, due for one anyway, but I'm going to get one that is younger as mine is looking a bit dated now (just long and a bit stragly). My make up is pretty up to date anyway, but my clothes....
My shape is very curvy, boobs and tummy/bum with a smaller waist. I am 5' 1" and he is 6' so I was thinking about some heeled boots, wedged perhaps?
What can I wear for a date? I tend to wear fitted jumpers, with a strappy top underneath and maybe an A line skirt or full skirt. The last time I went on a 'date' I think I wore jeans with a dressy top, but I don't know if I have the confidence to wear jeans/trousers at the moment as I always think I look fat!
Any inspiration for me? I should also mention that as I am now a single parent - I'm skint!! ;) Not to much of a challenge for you eh? lol PLEASE PLEASE help, I think a fling with this cutey is just what I need to put the smile back on my face.

Answer:
anybody, please? I need your expert advice!
Mel
Answer:
Sorry didn't know too much of what to suggest as I didn't know hair/eye/skin coloring. :o
Also where's the date going to be? Are you going out for dinner/drinks/riding elephants? :)
I'm a shortie like you (hope you don't mind me saying that :o ) and I love the idea of stack heeled boots and an a-line skirt. Love the look on me, as well as pencil skirts if you have any. :)
Top depends on where you're going as you can go a bit more classic with a fitted jumper/poloneck type, throw in a bit of trendy with a victorian top, or a strappy top if you're going out for drinks.

Gorgeous dog Mellymel!
Why don't you have a look at the Spot Check thread for inspiration? Or have a look on Mystyle.com for some pictures of the other baggers..
otherwise - i am loving this season's looks - you could go with the Beatnik influence of a stripey top and boots, or the Victorian look with a cute shirt and your boots either over jeans or woth a skirt.
Answer:
I don't know yet! that's the problem. I guess it will be drinks and maybe a meal. He's a dj and he has just mentioned me on his set! I'm listening to it on the net! so I'm famous.
I'm just so nervous because I haven't dated for 4 years and he's gorgeous!
The Aline skirt and boots is good, I can get the boots I like tom. I'm not sure about the top. I don't want to look to boring, so I don't really want to wear my usual jumpers. A new top may be in order but I'm not sure if the victorian idea is really me - way too high fashion, I usually go for more classic stuff so it doesn't date as easily. You see my dilema(sp)
My colouring is aurburn hair, hazel eyes, very light tan.
thanks for your reply and any further help with the top ideas would be handy!
THanks,
Mel
What fashion mistakes have you made?
NO.5. ask :
What fashion mistakes have you made?
..I f any..........
Answer:
Everything I wore up until about the age of 20. Although in a few years time I'll probably think the same about the clothes I'm wearing now! Looking back it's hard to tell if it was a genuine fashion mistake on my part, or just a crappy trend at the time. Although I'm sure there are a few clangers in there I can't blame on anyone! Just can't think of any good examples at the mo...
Answer:
Look I was a teenager in the mid 80s I think I made every fashion mistake going. Leg warmers, puff ball skirts (in pastel colours with white boots  ), neon, plastic jewellery (not the nice sort we get today either), white stiletoes, grolch tops on DMs, cut off denim shorts with opaque leggings underneath, lumberjack shirts, overdone highlights, heather shimmer lipstick with electric blue mascara, copying Madonna :o :o :o :o :o
Clucking bell, someone pass me a paper bag for my head before I die of embarrasment...
Answer:
The first outfit I bought for myself consisted of:
Shocking pink polo neck
Shocking pink ra-ra skirt
Shocking pink tights
...teamed with grey trainers.
In my defence, I was eight :o but clearly a developing a taste for public humiliation.
If it counts, I'd like to have my unforgivable taste for frosted pink lipstick at the age of twelve taken into account.
I don't think it's mere coincidence that I *never* wear pink anymore.
Answer:
Ooh I bought a frosted pink lipstick when i was about that age too! :guitar:
