primark(has it got nice winter stuff)

NO.1. Ask :
primark(has it got nice winter stuff)
the primark near me is miles away, i live in Livingston, i have to get a bus to falkirk then one from falkkirk to Stirling!
so i was going to go shopping to Primark on the 14th when iget paid:)
i just wanted to know if itll be worth it, have they got a lot of nice day to day stuff to wear?
Answer:
The Manchester one certainly has...I'm not sure about the branches near you though.
Look out for the pirate boots - they're FAB! :D
Answer:
The one near me has loads of tops and wrap around cardigans for a fiver, plus loads of casual jumpers and fleeces in every colour for just a few quid. Went last week and they didn't have much in the way of trousers (still loads of gypsy skirts), but probably will do by the 14th
Answer:
Agree with Bibbitybob...the Manchester one's fab, but it's not for the fainthearted, prepare to be pushed, shoved, and rummage!!
I want another good rummage on payday actually!
PS: Scottishgal, I only tend to go for bags/pyjamas/socks/shoes and boots etc, I find the clothes a bit bad quality! :(
(Bought a really nice brown wrap jumper top from there and it got a hole after the second day!)
That's only my experience though! ;)

I agree with you! I have only been in a Primark once and I thought the quality of the clothes was shocking. I don't understand why everyone raves about Primark at all - it might be cheap but you are getting what you pay for.

    NO.2. ask :
    Updating my wardrobe
Hi everyone. I'm in need of cheering up and I'm really excited because my OH has just suggested I go clothes shopping.
I want to update my wardrobe for Autumn and Winter, but I haven't got loads and loads to spend. What should I be buying and what shops should I try?
    Answer:
    Hi RR, he's a good boyfriend ;)
On a budget I don't think you can go wrong with a decent fitting pair of jeans, I haven't got them myself but have read on here that New Look and Primark jeans are fine. Even though skinnys are in if you are on a budget maybe it's best to stick to straight leg - more versitile and you may even be able to tuck them into jeans anyway.
Then I'd go for plainish tops - chunky jumpers, vests - all stuff that is versitile.
Then I'd get one nice bag, probably just in black or a plain metalic so it can go with everything and a pair of boots, again versitile - can be worn with anything.
For bargains it's got to be Primark, New Look, MS, Ebay!
If I was you though after buying all the basics I'd treat myself to one lovely top, maybe from Oasis (I bought a reddy pink cami that I'm wearing all the time at the moment, it's lovely) or Miss Selfridge is very good at the mo and that's coming from a 30 year old!
Have fun that's the main thing and let us know how you get on!:yay:
    Answer:
    Thank you!
I'm 30 too, shhhhhhhhhhhh, and usually avoid Miss Selfridge as I think I'm too old LOL. I think I'll take a look.
I've got a fair amount to spend, but I don't want to do my usual and by a few expensive pieces that aren't versitile enough to really update my wardrobe. I've got no idea about the fashion at the moment, and I do want to go with the latest trends, but with pieces I can use in different ways.
    Answer:
If you are looking at ways to update your wardrobe trend wise....
    Beatnik
Think stripey tops, skinny jeans, baker boy hats and buckle boots.
    Victoriana
Frilly shirts, waist belts, think prim and proper!
    Military
Military coats are rather nice, plenty of button detail!
    Russian
Velvet coats or jackets, big furry hats, embroidery details on items
    Secretary chic
Pencils skirts and crisp shirts teams with a great waist belt, sexy heels be it round toe or pointy - good look for work :)
    Answer:
Opss and i just read your last post and realised you don't want any of that sorry:o

  • Topshop Baxter's - do they go baggy

    NO.3. ask :
Topshop Baxter's - do they go baggy
I've got the DP grey skinny jeans but they have gone so baggy it's unbelievable, just wondering whether it might be worth my while spending the extra on some baxter's.
    Answer:
Not really...If I wear mine two days in a row they're not as snug as they were when first washed, but I just shove them back in the wash again!!
I wouldn't say they go baggy though, no!
    Answer:
I think most jeans will go baggy after wear unless they have stretch.
I know they aren't baxters but i have mooches that go so baggy i have to stick them in the tumble dryer after wearing them!
Strangly i'm not finding my grey DP's skinny jeans bagging too much - if they do i shall prob turn them inside out and stick them in the tumble dryer :)
    Answer:
I was looking at mooches today, are they nice on? I remember trying a pair, but only for a few seconds, I just saw how baggy they were and thought "noo"
How do you wear them CiC? I think they might swamp me because I'm small
    Answer:
Defo go down a size if you buy them due to them stretching!
Mine fit very nicely - cling on the hip and then just bag straight down - there's a very old pic of me in mine on my style diary i think unless i deleted it (ignore the mismatching outfit i was just trying to show a bagger how they looked!).
I usually wear mine for slobbing out days with my Dunlop velcro green flash and a green v neck jumper but they look good with pointy toes poking out and a fitted jacket/blazer on the upper half too with a chunky scarf - i like the contrast of the baggy with fitted top half :)

    Skinnies with XL legs?
Does anyone know where i can find skinny jeans in a 36" leg? TS are out of their tall baxters everywhere and the 34" are too short for me to wear with heels...
    Any ideas please girlies??
    Thanks xx
    Answer:
earnest sewn deccas are outrageously long, but if you have slim calfs they may not be skinny enough for you. they aren't cheap in the shops but i got mine in a random shopbop sale for $54 :D
    Answer:
TS Oxford Street had some black 36" leg drainpipes today..
    Answer:
I tried on some 36" baxters but the fit was all wrong..ie. they seemed to be baggier as well as longer!
  • Boots; kitten heel shoes; True Religion Bobby Jeans sizing?; i nearly puked...; hold-ups
  • Ok so I know skinny jeans are in....

But they are definitely not for me and today I bought the most gorgeous pair of jeans from gap.
They are really 'light' and wide, almost like wide legged trousers, and I love love love them.
Sorry - had to share - cheered me up on what has otherwise been a rather cr@p day!!!
