Clueless about dresses - should I keep this one?

NO.1. Ask :
Clueless about dresses - should I keep this one?
1 Attachment(s) I desperately need a couple of casual dresses for when I go on holiday in September. The holiday has only been confirmed recently so I'm trying to shop for it before all the Autumn stock arrives in the shops. I picked this dress up in the sales and I adore the shape but I'm not too sure about the pattern and the colour :( Is it far too much of a garish mish-mash? I won't be offended :o
I would really appreciate your opinions. I'm more of a jeans girl and only wear skirts occasionally so when it comes to dresses I'm clueless!
Answer:
I like it. Is that you? If so it looks fab on you. I would say definitly keep it- perfect for a holiday!
Answer:
I like it as well. Not too much of a pattern to be offensive. :) I'm normally a tee and jeans kind of girl too, but am slowly branching out, so good luck to you with it! :)
Answer:
That looks cute for holidays :)
Answer:
I've seen that dress in the shops too, and thought it was lovely :) But i never got round to buying it!

    Batwing tops

I have a couple of short-sleeved batwing/kimono style tops and am looking for something lightweight to wear over them because the weather is so unpredictable these days.
The thing is that the sleeves tend to bunch up if I wear something a bit tight, so... :uzzle:
Can anybody think of anything that might look good over the top? I wear them mainly with skinny or slim-fit trousers and jeans. I was thinking maybe a single-breasted jacket but I might be a bit hot in that.
    Can anybody help?
    Answer:
    hey
    how about a cape?
    Answer:
    hey
    how about a cape?

I think I'd feel a bit superhero, what with the batwings AND the cape.
I've actually been fantasising over a black jacket since you mentioned yours with a black victorian shirt (I think) and mooches on "What are You Wearing" and thought this was my big opportunity, but I'm worried about the bicep bunching. I'll be wearing ballet shoes and heels on my feet if that helps in any way.

I bought a pair of black Baxters yesterday but after trying them on with everything I own last night I've decided that they look rubbish on me. They didn't have a tag on when I bought them - do you think I'll have trouble returning them?
    Ta
    Answer:
As long as you have the receipt you should be fine. Just explain they had no tags when you bought them, if given a choice pick the sales assistant who is smiling!! I generally find the happy ones are more heplful :D:
    Answer:
Yeah, you only bought them yesterday and you can point out that if you had have worn them last night, being Baxters they would have baggy knees and a baggy ass in them by now!
In future though, if I ever buy anything from a shop that has its tags missing, I get the SA to mark the receipt so I can return it without having to explain myself.
    Answer:
Thanks - will give it a go. I usually keep things I don't want as I hate returning (always feel guilty?!) I can't really afford to do this though!
    Answer:
Don't feel guilty! Just think, someone else might want them so you're doing them a favour :)

What to wear when it's raining???
    Hello girls:wave:
I need something to stop me getting soaked to the skin on the school run but without looking like a trainspotter, a pensioner or I'm about to climb a mountain. I can't use an umbrella as I need to have both hands free to push the buggy and make sure my son isn't wandering into the road.
Does such a thing exist? What do you lot wear when it's tipping it down?
    Answer:
Well for a start every yummy mummy needs funky wellies :D
Coat wise something three-quarter length and waterproof with big pockets (mothers need big pockets!!) and a matching/co-ordinating hat. Boden should be a good starting point.
    Answer:
Orla Kiely have just updated their range with the autumn stuff so you could get some funky wellies and a rain hat from there! :) Their bags are plasticky presumably fairly waterproof too, if you need an excuse to buy another bag!
