Bristol primark?!?!
anyone know whats going on in bris primark? went into the big one today and looks as if its closing down? Does that mean they are only gonna have the small one?!?! Hopefully not!
cheers xxxx
ps - is there a peacocks? im sure ive never seen one but saw someone with a bag today!
Answer:
WOW There is a Primark that's closing down  You could check their website and see if there's any news on there. Google Peacocks.
Answer:
noooo!
Although, is this because they are taking over the site of one of the big stores? They'd better not close it down for a year before the new one opens! In Bromley they are opening a big new one, where Alders was, and they have let us have the old one still.
Bristol Primark is the source of most of my wardrobe! Im worried now!!
Answer:
Maybe they're moving all their stock into one of the stores (there are two opposite each other after all)?
They are taking over the building that currently houses House of Fraser in the next few years.
Peacocks doesn't have a shop in town any more. The nearest one is Bedminster and there are a few more out in the sticks.

Ebay Virgin!

Ebay Virgin!
Hello
I've been inspired by all you Ebay enthusiasts to have a go at selling some unwanted items, including a limited edition, never-been-used Lulu Guinness evening bag, and a (properly) vintage Burberry trench coat (as handed down through the family).
It may be a stupid question :o , but can anyone recommend a good idiot's guide to selling on Ebay, or indeed, give me a few pointers on how best to market and price items?
Any help would be very much appreciated!:)
Answer:
Sorry to have to say this, but people will be very wary of buying designer clothes from somebody with no feedback. I'd strongly recommend selling some cheaper items first to build up your feedback. Also, lurk around the Ebay messageboards for a while and you'll see the same problems cropping up again and again, so you'll know what pitfalls to avoid.
Also, are you sure you want to sell something that's been handed down through the family? Doesn't it have any sentimental value?

Great advice. Also, ebay have a very good help area. Just search around and see what starting bids other sellers are using for similiar items to the ones you intend to sell. Research and you'll be fine. I've sold plenty of stuff on ebay, and it's really easy to do. if you need any help, I'll be happy to assist. :)

I did a mahoosive thing on it once on here, I'll try and find it for you....

Here we are (saves my brain!)
Tips for selling on ebay
*Clear, accurate photographs are the most important thing when selling, preferably include your listing in “gallery” as well, which costs an extra 15p but really increases the number of viewers you will get looking at your item.
*Make sure you have a clear, written description, include measurements, fabric content, care instructions and be 100% honest over the condition of the item and whether it has been worn and how much etc (Doing this saves getting lots of questions)
*Presentation is important – No spelling mistakes! Also present the item well, there are lots of different borders/styles you can use which make it look nice but they aren’t necessary, as long as it’s written well, with good photo’s, that’s fine.
*It is always better to start your bidding as low as possible, it is sometimes hard to do this as you take a risk you won’t get much for it, but I’ve sold over 200 items now on ebay and if the item is good and you start it low you will get a bidding war! If you are really concerned about getting a good price, put a reserve on it. It will also keep your ebay fees down if you start lower. But do have a look and see what price similar items are going for and be realistic! You can put your item up for 10, 7, 5, 3 or 1 days, I always do 7 but it’s up to you. I often find Sunday evening is a good time to start and finish as many people are browsing at that time. Apparently the best time to end your item is 10pm.
*Ebay has a new listing service now which helps people to find things, use this as it really helps not only for you to describe your item and the make, colour, size etc but will help people to find it. You will find this on the page where you fill in your description. If you are very new to selling, take the ebay tour which can be found on the home page as it can seem very confusing at first.
Ebay fees
Starting or Reserve Price Insertion Fee
£0.01 - £0.99 = £0.15
£1.00 - £4.99 = £0.20
£5.00 - £14.99 = £0.35
£15.00 - £29.99 = £0.75
£30.00 - £99.99 = £1.50
and up = £2.00
Final Value Fees
Closing Price Final Value Fee
Item not sold No Fee
£0.01 - £29.99 5.25% for the amount of the high bid (at the listing close for auction-style listings) up to £29.99
£30.00 - £599.99 5.25% of the initial £29.99 (£1.57), plus 3.25% of the remaining closing value balance
Over £600.00 5.25% of the initial £29.99 (£1.57), plus 3.25% of the initial £30.00 - £599.99 (£18.53), plus 1.75% of the remaining closing value balance
You can pay these monthly by direct debit or visa (they will send you a statement) or as you go (I do it as I go)
*Accept Paypal and do not charge your buyers extra for using it, if you need to, start your bidding a little higher to cover the cost. Unfortunately it is expensive, you will be charged 2.9% + $0.30 USD but the convenience of it means you will get much more bidders as it means they can receive their item quickly. It’s upto you whether you accept cheques, they can be a pain, having to be paid in then cleared, your decision though, postal orders are good.
*Postage costs – if you have some kitchen scales you can weigh your item and check on www.royalmail.com for prices, remember to include packaging costs. One tip though, be honest - the times I have been charged £5 for a flimsy top to arrive in a used normal brown envelope with a 28p stamp on it is not funny and does not build you a good reputation. Pack well, I use tissue paper which can be bought very cheaply, then put in a clear bag and then in a jiffy bag, I also put in a printed card to say thank you, you don’t have to do any of this but it’s just how I would like to receive things.
*Always get proof of postage at your post office, this will cover you up to £28 if your item goes missing. I would also suggest including optional insurance, this costs the buyer an extra 66p and means it will be signed for, this also insures the item for up to £28. If you are sending an expensive item you will need to get special delivery which costs an extra £3.30 on top of postage price but means it’s insured up to a few hundred (not sure exactly how much, you would have to check)
There's probably a lot more, I'll have a think.....

Shops you wish had websites...
It's really bugging me at the moment that Zara don't have a website! When I'm after something particular and don't have much time I always browse online to see what's about before I hit the shops.
I suppose they have a very high turnover of stock so they probably don't want to mislead people about what they can guarantee to be available.
I really wish H M had a website too.
The other one's got to be Primark. Just imagine being able to actually find things in your size at the click of a mouse and then have it delivered rather than face the awful shops!
Any other ones?
Answer:
Coast ;)
Answer:
Just thought I'd dash in here and say COAST - even if it's only to stop people asking the Coast website address :p
ETA damn keropi beat me to it :p
And I wish Prada/Miu Miu would do something other than just park their domain name
Answer:

Answer:

How can I justify...
I have just got back from major shopping expedition. I have spent £136 on my new Converse trainers and the rest at TS. I got a lovely grey kind of stripery sparkly top, a goldy/silver bag for £50 which was WAY more than I was planning but I do love the bag, and bits of jewelry.
How can I possibly justify spending that much money when I don't have any?
Answer:
Impending payday, perhaps? If not, I don't know but I'm sure someone else on here will help you out! :p
Answer:
£136 for Converses???
Are you serious? Mine cost 40!
Answer:
Oops, maybe I didn't make that too clear! I meant £136 in total! £35 on Converse and the rest at TS!
I'm a student so the money I've spent is student loan and I really need to find a job badly! lol
Answer:

You did quite well. I used to spend 3/4 of my student loan on shopping and then worry about how the rent would be paid
