what to wear with a brown suit?

NO.1. Ask :
what to wear with a brown suit?
I got a fab chocolate brown linen suit from oasis that i am going to be wearing to an event in a couple of weeks time, but i am stuck as to what to wear with it  i am thinking either a cream or pink dressy top?? As i am going to be working for the main day part i can't be too casual so therefore am also wondering which accessories to go for?
i would love a brooch or corsage or something for the jacket!
Ladies - any suggestions please? on colours / items etc? would really appreciate it, as just can't picture it at the mo!
Answer:
I love baby blue with chocolate.
Answer:
Pale pink and pale blue look good imho!
I am actually wearing pale pink and chocolate brown today and think the two colours look well together... :)
Answer:
I would go for cream top and bronze or gold shoes and accessories :)
Answer:
What's your colouring?
On myself I'd try a good coral.
Love the idea of the bronze accessories - good one!

I saw at least 8 pairs of lovely boots today but none of them were in my size:boohoo: They had even filled up the size 6/7 aisles with 4's and 5's as it was so empty.
Right, only one thing for it, I'll have to lose some toes;)
    Answer:
We should do a swap AG! I hate my local TK Maxx, as the 5 aisle is always like a desert. I always see loads of nice shoes in sizes 6 and 7, or 3 and 4, then get in a tizz about whether I should chance it with a bigger size.
..and I never find my size lurking in the other aisles. :(
    Grrrrr.

I've noticed they're spectacularly crap at getting stock in size 7s - I always see stuff I like but they never have my size.

...and I saw a nice burgundy croc Furla bag in there for £70 the other day and couldn't justify the purchase!

ETA - It was a Furla, not a Fendi!
    Answer:
We will have to do a swap CG:lol: I only ended up with a scarf for myself, everything else I got was for the children:(
I've just had a quick look on ebay for boots but nothing looks interesting.

    Anyone feeling crafty?
I'll resist bursting into the Hobby Craft theme song.
I bought a long "wrap over" style black top from Primark today with the intentions of fiddling with it because I'd prefer to make the straps thin instead of wide. Made of thin cotton, very thin seems etc. Basically I was thinking of clipping the material together with 2 brooches or safety pins or something like that (anything to avoid sewing!) possibly decorative.
Just wondered if anyone had any suggestions of what I could use? I was trying to think of some sort of hair clips that would work. Hmmmm. Anyway, feel free to ignore my rambling :o
    Answer:
I'm crafty but I'm finding it had to envisage what you're trying to achieve, any chance you can post a piture of the top so I have a better idea?
    Answer:
    yes, post a pic...
    What about kilt pins?
    Answer:
Ok, I've photographed myself in it, despite feeling like a bit of a lemon  PLEASE ignore my cream bra, I know better than to wear it with a black top in real life :p
    Answer:
    Woah. I'm HUGE. :o
Anyone know how to make it a bit smaller?:o

    NO.4. ask :
    Is Office really that bad?
I've seen a few people slag off Office on here, and to be honest sometimes I think their shoes look a bit shabby and cheaply made. I've never actually bought a pair though so I have no experience with the company whatsoever.
However, I really like the look of the red patent flat mary-janes featured in this weekends Style (£55) and am thinking of buying them.
Not recommended, or worth a shot?
    Answer:
Yes they really are that bad.
I can't comment on the quality as every pair I've bought have been fine but the customer service is shit and you can't return anything for a refund unless it's faulty. Even then you have to go through the whole palavar of the surly staff and the interrogation regarding what exactly you've been doing in the offending items ("Walking?! Well of course the shoes are going to fall apart if you walk in them!"). If you're brave enough to persist with your complaint, the item is usually sent off to "Head Office" (ie the store room) and you are made to sweat it out for a couple of weeks before returning to the shop and being given the verdict. Which in my experience is a politely worded "F*ck off!"
That said, I love their shoes and bought a pair a few weeks and have my eye on another pair. I REALLY hope they don't fall apart on me :(
    Answer:
I've never had a problem with them but then I do tend to be overly grateful to shops that are nice enough to sell size 8 shoes that fit size 8 feet (yes, I do curse faith constantly). I bought some high heeled mary janes from them about 6 months ago and practically live in them, never had any problems, I just had the heels re-soled but for the amount I wore them its fine.
No idea about taking stuff back though, Ive never had to.
    Answer:
    It's ridiculous, isn't it?
I mean, what if you took a pair home to match something else and the colour wasn't right? As long as there's no evidence of them having been used, I can't see what the problem is?
I would be tempted to ask them, and say "OK, stuff you then, I'll take my business elsewhere!" :p x

    Answer:
I'm in absolute agreement with Toosh - their customer service is appalling. I had a really blatantly broken pair and they took twenty minutes to agree to replace them for me, and I was really lucky about that because not everyone has that much success with them. And yes, they are badly made. The shoes were originally £60 but I got them for £15 in a sale and in my opinion they're not even worth £15.

I need the fashion help of irish baggers!
    hi all !!!!
The time has come for a complete wardrobe over all !! i have gotten a new job :yay:- once which requires me to wear the casual but business like clothes. I work in a call centre and I am moving to another call centre but moving higher up the ladder. :D
I will be in charge of a team of people so i want to look casual but business like at the same time. My normal look for work is black pants and a top, or jeans and a top. So for this job i am hoping to go down the route of pants and a top and steer away from my jeans.
So i got two questions my little irish fashionistas !
One what is hip and casual and trendy and business like to wear in the irish office these days - when you are 5 ft nothing size 14.
And my next question - whats good on the streets of dublin - I am making my monthly pilgrimage to dublin next weekend and i won't have long in the shops so i need to make my hit list now ...
    help me !! :D
    thanks

you're not asking for much
Congratulations on the new job :yay:
So....what is hip and casual in Irish offices  Its a hard one to answer. IMHO a LOT of the people I see around Dublin look soooooo plain and boring going to work :o And I'm crap at advising people what to wear when I don't know their wardrobe inside out  I work in a company that is design based so I can wear what I want and get away with things that are a bit different. I would imagine a call centre is a bit more conservative......if you have to stick to basics like trousers and tops, I would use accessories to make the look less plain. A short fitted jacket (velvet?) would look good and would probably suit your shape.
And my next question - whats good on the streets of dublin - I am making my monthly pilgrimage to dublin next weekend and i won't have long in the shops so i need to make my hit list now ...

DUNDRUM!!!! Although if you dont have very long you could be in trouble, because when you go in there there are SO many shops that you would be hard pushed to rush in and out!
sorry I'm not much help :o
