Sex-up a plain outfit!
Hello!
If you were to go out wearing my staple diet of mooch jeans and a skinny black topshop vest, how would you make it interesting?
I'm not the dressing up type usually and like to be comfy but sexy too, but wondered if you baggers had any fresh ideas accessory-wise? I'm mainly thinking for going out at night btw.
Ta!

Answer:
I think it's about hair as well as accessories....
Sexy slightly wavey hair with gorgeous chandelier earrings poking through. A nice tan. Pointy shoes pointing out of your mooches. Skinny scarf around neck maybe? Glossy lips and sweeping eyes!
Answer:
How about a backless or a strapless top instead?
Answer:
How about beads/necklaces layered together? You can experiement with different styles and colours to gain confidence. Try looking though style diary
There are plenty of very basic outfits shown here, yet they are accessorised to make them look sexy/funky etc. Its all in the detail!

I definitely think simple outfits like that can look really good for nights out. I'd add some pointy stilletoes, some cool earrings and a vintage bag that nobody else is going to have. And lots of lip gloss and MAC eyeshadow!
Stained skirt
NO.2. ask :
Stained skirt
I posted this in general and Leap recommending you guys for helping me :)
I have an Elle pink and white flowery skirt n I was ironing it this morning and it got a big black mark on it and then it smudged so it's ruined I put some Vanish squirty remover stuff on it and stuck it in the wash straight away and it's still there just as bad :(
Can anyone help? It's my favourite item of clothing x :(
Answer:
If you know what the stain is try stain devils.

Someone on here recommended them to me when some foundation woudn't budge off my duvet after 3 washes:eek: My bottle had kind of flung on the bed and left a big splodge:rolleyes: It's fine now though :)
Answer:
I would have it dry cleanned (but in a good specialist which can advised you about the best way to remove the stain)...
Hope you get it removed though :(
Shop Sizes
NO.3. ask :
Shop Sizes
Hello!
I am a size 16/18 and quite tall and it drives me mad that not everywhere seems to stock above a size 14 - especially the pricier shops! I was wondering if it would be a good idea if we had a thread where we could list all the shops you shop in and what size ranges they do (not just for us fuller figured girls - petite sizes, longer lengths, larger bras, small large shoe sizes etc.)?
I've recently discovered that Monsoon go up to a size 22 in some things which I was surprised about so by starting this thread I hope I can find some other new shops too!
Also - perhaps we can ask about shops we're curious about but too afraid to go in in case the assistants point and laugh!
Here's my contribution (mostly obvious I know!):
Monsoon - up to size 22 (but you have to hunt around a bit!)
Gap - up to size 18
Next - up to size 20 (and they do longer trouser lengths)
Marks Spencer - up to size 22 (and long short trousers skirts)
And does anyone know what size they do up to in Reiss?
Answer:
shop sizes
HM have their BB range up to size 30?? plus their regular range goes up to size 20 (but they are cut quite small).
I think that BHS do up to size 20, certainly up to size 18.
New Look do a size 16 and their jeans are very generous - I can get into a 14 !! :-)) New Look jeans rock - 3 different styles and then leg lengths from 28-36! And a choice of light or dark blue denim.
Some of the Designers at Debenhams things go up to size 18
Whistles do a size 16 (some of the size 16 stuff is fairly generously sized)
Primark do up to a size 18 and even size 20 in some things
Dorothy Perkins do up to a size 18 I think
That's all I can think of for now, hope it helps!
Answer:
New look do up to a 28 (i think!) in their larger sizes range :)
Answer:
shop sizes
OOh, I forgot about that. And Mark One do a larger size range too.
Answer:
**** sizes differ based on the style of the top. Some things I've had to get a 12 in rather than a 14 or 16 because they'd swim on me.
Their largest size does seem ot be 16 though.
Wearing Belts OVER belt loops?
NO.4. ask :
Wearing Belts OVER belt loops?
As in wearing a thick belt which is clearly too thick to go through the loops so people wear them anyway, just slung round their waists??
Particularly over jeans??
Am I the only person who thinks this is just wrong?
I've really really TRIED to get it, and have even worn it myself with a lovely thick belt that I have over jeans with a top down over the top of the jeans but nope - it felt and looked wrong imho.
That irritating bint (imo ;) ) Nicky Hambleton Jones was wearing it on 10 years Younger last night and I was SCREAMING at the tv - NOOOOOOOO!! Even DH said that he could see why it irritated me
Is there something i'm missing??
Over trousers that don't have loops (and are therefore flatter round the waist iyswim) or over skirts (although again, prob not one with belt loops unless it's a v flowy skirt) I think it looks lovely and something I wear often.
Am I alone in my madness on this one??!!

Answer:
I don't mind when it's done so that you can't see the loops but it reallllllllllly bugs me when people where a thick belt low slung and you can see the loops above:rolleyes: :D
Answer:
Nope, belts over loops are in fact against the law where I come fron ;)
But didn't that woman look FAB after her transformation last night?
Minky
Answer:
It bugs me too, I havent taken much notice of the flowy skirts morrocan style belts this year for fear of it being out of fashion next year, but wearing many belts slung on the hips for added effect the loops on the jeans are not being used it does look kinda odd!
Answer:
Only when the loops cannot be seen ie. hidden with said belts as per catwoman!;)
What do your men wear?
NO.5. ask :
What do your men wear?
Are your boyfriends/ husbands/ beaus/ objections of affection as well - dressed as you are?
What's their "style"? Does it fit with yours? Did he or you adapt your style when you got together? Where does your man shop?
I think my boyfriend usually looks great and very stylish - in an effortless, slightly scruffy way ;)
I like a man who obviously thinks about how he looks but I'm really not a fan of the over-preened look - you know, the guys who have obviously spent more time in the hair salon than you?!
Answer:
Stylish, clean, smart (not ott but not scruffy either!)
A mix of Mr.Big during week and Aidan at the weekends he he (fashion wise that is!)
Answer:
When i met my fiance he was very much a hugo boss, versace, armani, prada man, so he dressed quite classically and nicely.
Since he's been trying to get himself out of debt though he's starting shopping at mens highstreet stores. I've finally got him to be brave and try on more 'fashion' items which he loves - stripey polos things like that.
He will always love his designer stuff but realises we won't be able to afford it when we have a house etc so he's been extremely good in snapping out of that habit. Although he did buy a Ted Baker suit in the sale as it's always great to have a nice suit as a staple in a mens wardrobe.
I'm a lot more into clothes and fashion but we both have outfits to compliment each other if needs be :D
Answer:
Mr Curls is kind of stuck in his ways, bless him. Although he has branched out a bit in the last year or two. He used to wear a uniform of black levi 501s and black or blue t-shirts. He now wears 7FAMK jeans - black or blue, and he wears much more colourful tees - khaki, lime, rust, burnt orange, purple. He also has a couple of pairs of Maharishis which I persuaded him to buy in the sales and he loves them. I'd probably describe him as simple urban style wise.
Answer:
Mr Toosh's wardrobe is in need of a serious overhaul at the moment. He wrecks his clothes - curry stains, ripped back pockets, snagged jumpers etc  so we need to go through his stuff and replace some.
He generally wears Ralph Lauren polo shirts and Boss or Armani cords for golf (seems to have millions of them) and then Armani, Prada, Stone Island, Boss and Lacoste (the understated stuff! ;) ) the rest of the time. His style is pretty simple and laid back - plain teeshirts and jumpers, classic bootcut jeans, loafers etc. He wears clothes well and can just chuck on a teeshirt and jeans and look fantastic - the git.
