Silver Skirt???
I bought a really nice skirt for a Christmas party I went to last year - it's a fifties style skirt, pleated, about calf length and a really nice silver - not too shiny. I worn it with a really subtle black top with beading and black stilletoes.
...Anyway.. that was the one and only time I worn that skirt. It's such as shame because I really do like it and love the shape of it. So I'm thinking of wearing it to work, with a plain black polo neck/v neck jumper, fish nets/other black tights and black ballet pumps.
Do you think I could do this? I''m just worried that the silver material might be a bit OTT for the day but thought the black polo neck/ballet pumps might tone it down? I know you can't really tell unless you've seen the skirt but would appreciate any comments?! :)
Answer:
Why dont you try wearing some colour with it to make it less severe? Maybe a pale pink or peach or a purply blue?
Answer:
I think you could wear the skirt if the material is not too shiny - but imo pairing it with black will make it look evening-y even if the top is simple.
Maybe you could wear it with other colours - lilac/plum, pinks or teals/turquoises? that'd be really pretty.
Answer:
Thanks guys - I do have lots of coloured tops but I'm not sure what shoes/tights to wear if I do go for the coloured top option?- I think black wouldn't look right if I wore a coloured top but then what would?
Answer:
There are lots of different coloured opaques, not all of them garish, out there. If you were going for a pink/plum option you could wear dark aubergine tights, I think black would be fine for teal/turquoise options.

Where can I buy a box for a man's watch collection
NO.4. ask :
Where can I buy a box for a man's watch collection
Hi
Im trying to find a reasonably priced box (to hold around 12 watches) for someone who collects watches.
There are specialist boxes available and I have seen one in Goldsmiths jewellers but this was over £200.
Would anyone know where I can find a cheaper alternative. Its for a man by the way. Im not sure what shops sell them, I saw one in John Lewis, but it was a bit too feminine looking.
All help appreciated.Thank you
Answer:
Next do one for 6 watches - leather look with clear lid ( about £12) Buy 2 perhaps, summer winter?
Answer:
Thank you so much. Ill have a look. Definitely much cheaper than Goldsmiths.
Id love any more suggestions
Answer:
fossil do some nice ones. they are either black leather or leather look (didnt get a good look so am not sure - sorry) they do one that holds 3 watches for £25 and one that holds 6 watches for £30. i'm not sure if they did bigger ones either.
they were very nice though, and had little leather round cushions in each 'section' to put the watches round.
i saw one with three sections in a discount reatil outlet in florida last year for only $10 - i so wish i'd got it now. oh well, i'll have to go back :D
Has anyone ever used this site for UGGs?
NO.5. ask :
Has anyone ever used this site for UGGs?
Has anyone ever used www.ugg-planet.de to buy UGGs? I really want to buy a classic short pair in chestnut in a size UK4/US6 and apart from Ebay, this is the only place I have found that have them in stock. I'd rather not buy from Ebay because including the cost of shipping from the US they end up being around the same price anyway and I feel a website that offers refunds is more trustworthy.
So if anyone can recommend this website I'd be very happy!
Answer:
I just found www.hartings.co.nz where they are only £79.95 (inc pp) as opposed to £103.50 (exc pp) from the other site so I might get them from here instead :)
I'm the only one posting on my own thread now so I think I'm going to go :o :D
ETA: The tall ones are only £89.95 (inc pp) from this website for anyone who's interested, but they only have them in sand. They are a whopping £140 on the high street!
Answer:
hiya - thanks for this link - i've been thinking maybe i should get myself some uggs - i haven't been able to afford any up till now because of things like driving test and getting my first car:D - i wonder what the postage is from new zeland, and i wonder if customs would charge loads too???
the only other thing is too - have i kind of missed the boat with uggs? is it still acceptable to wear them? :) or do you think it is best to wait for the next boot thing (i think i've kind of missed the whole cowboy boots thing too!)
Answer:
Hi
Will you let me know how you get on please? I was looking for ages for some Ugg Australia Uggs in my size (UK4) but couldn't find a site with them in stock. I ended up ordering some made by www.ikonaustralia.com at the beginning of December and am STILL waiting for them to arrive! I ordered short Chestnut ones and am still tempted by getting short ones in Sand.
Thanks

Flummery
Flummery, I ordered a pair from IkonAustralia at the end of October and they never arrived! I emailed them four or five times and eventually I got a reply at the end of December saying:
"To all customers who have placed an order between October 21st and November 2nd 2004,
It appears that not all customers have received the below message. To ensure everybody has received this message, we are resending the message. Apologies if you have received this message twice.
Dear customer,
Due to ongoing problems with our payment presser (PayPal) orders made between October 21st and November 2nd 2004 could not be processed. As a result, no Surf boots ordered during this period have been shipped.
If you placed an order during this period, your credit card may or may not have been charged. If your credit card has been charged then you need to have your payment refunded. Surf Boots Australia does not have the payment, therefore we advise you to chargeback through your credit card company.
If you are still interested in purchasing our products please log onto www.ikonaustralia.com and make a purchase directly with your credit card.
We apologize for any inconvenience.
Surf Boots Australia"
I have since contacted my credit card company but I have yet to check to see if the matter has been resolved. Maybe the same problem occured when you ordered yours?
I ended up buying a tall chestnut pair from USC during the weekend which I love :)
