Does anyone know what the going rate is for a large slouchy leather bag of theirs? Saw one in TK Maxx - just wondered if it was a bargain or not....
    Answer:
I saw those bags Trickster, I though £49 was a good price for a huge butter soft leather bag!
    Answer:
I saw the silver/grey one. I loved the brown, but the silver/grey is more use to me. Did you think it was a good price? I did too...I don't know how much they retail for though. Any idea?
    Answer:
    Bump.
Does anyone know regular retail price?
    Answer:
I don't know how much these particular bags normally retail for but I saw another Dollargrand bag in TK Maxx a few months ago that retails at £85 and was in there for £18. (Just thinking that might be an indication of the normal prices). By the way the bag I saw was fabric and not leather!
Hmmn, I don't think this is any help at all. :( :o

    Ebay Selling and PayPal Advice
Do PayPal charge for using their services? If so, how much
Ive just registered as a seller on ebay, does anyone have any tips/helpful hints?
    Answer:
Paypal only charge if you accept payments using it... and the fee is rather high, something like 11-14% of what you make.
It's also against ebay rules to charge paypal fees on top of final sale value... figures really as Paypal is an ebay company and if anyone would like to make those additional fees it's them.
I find paypal a bit of a necessary evil really, they sting you silly for fees, but on the other hand if you don't accept paypal payments people are less inclined to bid on your item.
There are so many things people can tell you about selling on ebay, but I really think it's all down to experimentation. Try selling a couple of low value things at first until you get the hang of all the different things you can do, and also build up your feedback which helps also.
    Answer:
    Tips for selling on ebay
*Clear, accurate photographs are the most important thing when selling, preferably include your listing in “gallery” as well, which costs an extra 15p but really increases the number of viewers you will get looking at your item.
*Make sure you have a clear, written description, include measurements, fabric content, care instructions and be 100% honest over the condition of the item and whether it has been worn and how much etc (Doing this saves getting lots of questions)
*Presentation is important – No spelling mistakes! Also present the item well, there are lots of different borders/styles you can use which make it look nice but they aren’t necessary, as long as it’s written well, with good photo’s, that’s fine.
*It is always better to start your bidding as low as possible, it is sometimes hard to do this as you take a risk you won’t get much for it, but I’ve sold over 200 items now on ebay and if the item is good and you start it low you will get a bidding war! If you are really concerned about getting a good price, put a reserve on it. It will also keep your ebay fees down if you start lower. But do have a look and see what price similar items are going for and be realistic! You can put your item up for 10, 7, 5, 3 or 1 days, I always do 7 but it’s up to you. I often find Sunday evening is a good time to start and finish as many people are browsing at that time. Apparently the best time to end your item is 10pm.
*Ebay has a new listing service now which helps people to find things, use this as it really helps not only for you to describe your item and the make, colour, size etc but will help people to find it. You will find this on the page where you fill in your description. If you are very new to selling, take the ebay tour which can be found on the home page as it can seem very confusing at first.
    Ebay fees
Starting or Reserve Price Insertion Fee
    £0.01 - £0.99 = £0.15
    £1.00 - £4.99 = £0.20
    £5.00 - £14.99 = £0.35
    £15.00 - £29.99 = £0.75
    £30.00 - £99.99 = £1.50
    and up = £2.00
    Final Value Fees
    Closing Price Final Value Fee
    Item not sold No Fee
£0.01 - £29.99 5.25% for the amount of the high bid (at the listing close for auction-style listings) up to £29.99
    £30.00 - £599.99 5.25% of the initial £29.99 (£1.57), plus 3.25% of the remaining closing value balance
Over £600.00 5.25% of the initial £29.99 (£1.57), plus 3.25% of the initial £30.00 - £599.99 (£18.53), plus 1.75% of the remaining closing value balance
You can pay these monthly by direct debit or visa (they will send you a statement) or as you go (I do it as I go)
*Accept Paypal and do not charge your buyers extra for using it, if you need to, start your bidding a little higher to cover the cost. Unfortunately it is expensive, you will be charged 2.9% + $0.30 USD but the convenience of it means you will get much more bidders as it means they can receive their item quickly. It’s upto you whether you accept cheques, they can be a pain, having to be paid in then cleared, your decision though, postal orders are good.
*Postage costs – if you have some kitchen scales you can weigh your item and check on www.royalmail.com for prices, remember to include packaging costs. One tip though, be honest - the times I have been charged £5 for a flimsy top to arrive in a used normal brown envelope with a 28p stamp on it is not funny and does not build you a good reputation. Pack well, I use tissue paper which can be bought very cheaply, then put in a clear bag and then in a jiffy bag, I also put in a printed card to say thank you, you don’t have to do any of this but it’s just how I would like to receive things.
*Always get proof of postage at your post office, this will cover you up to £24 if your item goes missing. I would also suggest including optional insurance, this costs the buyer an extra 65p and means it will be signed for, this also insures the item for up to £24. If you are sending an expensive item you will need to get special delivery which costs an extra £3.30 on top of postage price but means it’s insured up to a few hundred (not sure exactly how much, you would have to check)
*Once you have received payment and have posted the item you can leave feedback, personally I always wait until I know the person has got the item and is happy with it
That’s all I can think of right now, I’m sure some more will come to me!

    Dress over Jeans
Anyone got any ideas for the type of dresses that you can wear over jeans? (Am I best going for the super short ones that I'd never dare to normally wear?!)
I don't want it to look casual but for going out so it'll be with my smart jeans and heels.
Has anyone seen any nice (reasonably priced!) dresses lately?
    Ta in advance :D
    Answer:
i'd go for the more floaty style. the floaty skirt i got at lunch time has an elasticated waist so i plan to also wear it as a top over jeans.
wrap dresses also look nice over jeans imho.
    Answer:
I've been doing this look for years, I used to be the only one round my way wearing them but I see many more people doing it now. I think you can do it with nearly any type of dress as long as it's not too long. I tend to do it more with floaty ones, but in winter I also wear jumper dresses over jeans with a big belt.
    Answer:
Looks like floaty it is then!
I used to have a shirt dress that I wore over trews but that was ages ago when I was at college and I dunno, I've sort of gone really bland in clothes wearing over the past few years and just need the confidence to start doing thigns differently again. But seeing as a few people are doing it I guess its not 'that' different but its a start!!
    Thanks for the advice

    Me too! :D
Experiment, once you have tried one or two you will be more confident about trying different ones.
Also agree about wrap dresses too.
