HM GOLD mini-cardi/shrug thing ...
a couple of months back, a friend of mine got one of these - asked where from, she told me H so I flew down there, checked all 4 branches along Oxford/Bond St and not one in sight.
Just checked ebay and found one. IT's the wrong size. However -just HAD to share the pic posted on ebay with you ...
I'm all for modelling your item for full effect, but for one reason or another this one made me laugh!!

I was going to say isnt that Primark? Ive got the silver one (dont wear it like that though, promise! ) and I remember a bagger saying they had the gold version.
Definately Primark! ;)
  • My turn to do the begging - anyone going to Primark?; Black pencil skirt; Prinmark returns; Dress over trousers; vintage style silver shoes!

Going to London again on saturday to meet me buddies... :yay: again!!!
Can't wait to hit the shops then!!! Are the sales all on around oxford street and vicinity? I'm not sure i'm down for all the madness :cmdunno:
    Answer:
    Oh yes!!
Fingers crossed you get the second mark down as I think all the good first mark down bargains are probably gone by now.
Personally I love the real fag end of the sales when things are like 30%!!
Otherwise you could console yourself with Autumn / Winter stuff - investment buys obviously!!!

    NO.3. ask :
    GEORGE at Asda gems!
Popped into my local Asda on the way home from work and my eyes were drawn to their new stock in the "hot off the catwalk" range. (Apologies if this info is out of date / been done already! )
They have sequin shrugs for 14 quid. Really nice short sleeved with one small button fastening at the front. They came in black and cornflower blue (which I thought was gorgeous - I only didnt buy it because I already have the silver and black ones from Peacocks that I have yet to wear!)
I also saw and bought a fantastic sequin vest. I only saw it in black - plain ribbed vest from the front but when you turn it around it has a V back edged in black sequins then a keyhole cutout also edged in sequins. It may cause a problem with bra straps across the back but I'm sure someone on here will have an idea of getting around that. And only a tenner.
They had other stuff that caught my eye (nice full skirt again in cornflower blue) with a self tie belt edged in sequins - 20 quid) but I didnt really pay that much attention. I'll pop back in tomorrow to check the rest of the stuff out again. Oh and before you ask I cant post a pic as b/f is out and he hasnt shown me how to do it yet! Sorry!
Just thought I'd let you all know.:)
    Answer:
    Was this the sequin shrug?
    (My post on this page,
    )
I've only seen it in that colour! Mine was £18 too
    Answer:
Don't taunt me with that shrug, they didn't have any in my local asda! ;)
    Answer:
No thats not it (although I saw that one too - very pretty!). These looked new in - mesh backing with sequins all over.
    Answer:
I saw the shrug you was on about Annie but in Black at my store. Popped there yesterday and could have spent a small fortune!
I was tempted to get the shrug you have Jelly but talked myself out of it as i have my silver Oasis one.
Saw the black vest with sequin back detail too! They also had some lovely cami's in a cotton stretch material with sequin detail around the bust area Also saw that skirt which i love but knew i wouldn't wear:( so left alone (good catwoman!)
The had a lovely black fine knit short sleeve top too. Longer length with sequin detail on the shoulder area.
I made do with a grey t shirt with ruching on the shoulders...i'll put a pic up later:)
Was peeved off that they had my shoes i bought a month ago reduced to a tenner though, i've only worn them once too, could have got my money back if i hadn't worn them:mad:

Topshop and their dodgy website stock
    [rant]
I got a good bonus last month at work, and I decided to treat myself to a new outfit. I'm going to Millport for the day with a bunch of old school friends for a beach/bbq reunion and decided to buy an outfit for that. I've just picked the whole thing on the Topshop website, and EVERY BLOODY SINGLE PIECE is out of stock. It's near impossible to get anything in a 16 in the stores, and just as hard on their website. It does my nut in.
Sorry, just a mini rant because I got excited about it, and (sadly - I need a life!) I want to cry because I can't get any of it.
    :( :cmdunno:
Does anyone else find certain websites advertise they have sizes but nearly everything is "out of stock"?
    [/rant]
    Answer:
always the same whatever size you are - really feel for you, but have you tried DPs or Warehouse as they often have similar stuff x
    Answer:
I totally sympathise with you about Topshop and there lack of size 16's! I hate flicking through 200 million tops only to find that they are all size 10's and 12's:mad: But I was happy to finally get a pair of leopard print pumps on the website last night (though for the first time ever will actually have to hide them from Mr P:o ) in my size:yay: Warehouse and Miss Selfridge are just as bad for this.
On the other topic - I went to Millport for the first time on Saturday!!!!! Mr P's parents have a little flat there so we went to say hello and I was shown all the sights:lol: Nearly got stuck there for the night as the little boat couldn't dock to let us onboard the sea was so choppy from the wind! They made the big boat come for us instead! T'was good fun tho:)
    Answer:
I tried Dotty P's, Mimi, but not Warehouse - will give it a go now. I'm so gutted about the trousers I picked - I fell in love with them. It sucks!
Betty P - was it good? I've never been. Quite excited as I'm helping organise the trip. GOing to be great to get the old gang back together for a day!
    Answer:
I have to buy size 16 tops and can totally share your frustration. I have to look through rack after rack in Topshop, and come out empty handed. I never have this problem in DP, and Warehouse not so much either, its just Topshop which is that bad. The thing is, many of my fellow shoppers are often similar in size to me, and isnt the average woman a size 14? It Topshop took heed to this and increased their sizes instead of their prices, they might have a better turnover!
...wow, you got me ranting too
  • Another boring ebay question; O/T? Ebay item not turned up; Coast website - it exists!; Another Sizing Rant; Leggings are fine but ....

Bounty hunting, convincing suits and holidays
Holiday clothes seeking time - off to Portugal in three weeks! Hi everyone, there's a thunder storm outside so internet shopping it is! I was wondering if anybody's bought one of those very cute lacy white/cream tops with the high and tight Victorian style neckline? I saw one in Karen Millen down from £90 to £45 but that's still a bit dear. Any ideas?!
Also, has anybody ever tried a pair of Seven For All Mankind jeans? I'm regularly a 27" waist but I've heard they're a bit small? Some nice looking pairs on eBay. I've also just landed myself a new PR/journalism job and the girls there are all dressed in the best looking suits and really expensive shoes. It's really depressing!! Wondering if anyone knew of anywhere that does sharp looking suits for zilch?
thank you so much for your help! xx
    Answer:
You can get some good looking (although sometimes just ok on the quality front) suits in New Look, Dorothy Perkins, Next, HM (although you'll have to rake and use the lining to find matching pieces), Asda, Marks and Spencers Limited and Autograph collection, and on a rare (rare!) occasion, Bay Trading *shudders*
Can't help with any of the others though, but I know there are quite a few people with FAMK jeans who should be able to aid you in your sizing queries.
    HTH :)
    Answer:
    Just found this:

for you. It's from Dorothy Perkins, comes in cream and black, and is only £22. Was it the sort of Victorian style you were looking for?
    Answer:
Have to say Primark have something very similar in at the mo - I think its only about 8 quid.
Has short sleeves (not sleeveless) and only comes in white. That style really doesnt suit me but I love it.
They didnt have many in local one though - might be worth checking out if you have one near you?
    Answer:
Aww, thanks all! Wow, that's a really beautiful top thanks Leffie! Not as lovely as your digi-art though, I am very impressed! Am really into my graphic novels so that was lovely to browse!
I definitely like that DP one (how do you get images up there, by the way?! Something I ought to know!). Managed to find the Karen Millen one on ebay and the starting bid isn't much more than the DP cost. I was hoping there'd be one that kept its shape enough to look good under a suit since many seem quite flouncy and oversized - so yeah Little Annie, that's definitely the sort of thing.
Here's a link to the Karen Millen one I like - it does come with a cream cami underneath usually, think she took it out to photograph
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...MEWA%3AITrd=1
and isn't as shiny in real life, think that's the flash :)
I've not thought about Marks, believe it or not, for suits - I guess my budget's around £60 for a knee length skirt and jacket (don't do trousers!) - I think I'll treat myself to shopping this afternoon!
