Sample Sale
I have just subscribed to Daily Candy and they have mailed me to say that there is a sample sale in London on Friday 24 June (5pm-10pm) and Saturday 25 June (8am-6pm) at Porchester Hall in Bayswater. Apparently you can pick up bargains from, amongst others (there's a whole list of them), Temperley, Missoni, Diane Von Furstenberg, Ghost etc etc at below wholesale. You have to rsvp if you want to go (www.billiondollarbabes.com). I'm gonna have a wander down there tomorrow morning and will report back x

Charity shop stuff I can do
I haven't the time to do Ebay
some of it is quite decent.
    Hints/tips anyone?
    Answer:
    Hmmmm Salvation Army???
Either that or swap it with any same-size friends for make-up and stuff (although this could create a new habit... )
Ebay doesn't take much time, are you sure you don't wanna have a look because you could at least get something out of it then.

    Answer:
    bitch swap party!!!
    Answer:
    bitch swap party!!!
    ??????????
    Answer:
bitch swap party - where you get together with similar sized friends and bring along all of your stuff that you don't want any more and you swap....warning, must be very good friends and you must be prepared to give away your clothes etc or not get a fair exchange, and accept that no one will want some of your stuff:o .
alternatively why not try one of those companies that sell stuff on ebay for you ??? one has just opened up in my area called flog4u or something like that....I was intrigued as like you I can't be arsed to do the whole ebay thing (and also ebay is banned at my workplace which is where I do all my internetting) but was also conscious of the value of the items I don't want any more.

    HM
Is it just where I live, or is HM always like a jumble sale? Loads of my friends have lovely clothes from there, but I just can't bring myself to go in there - it's a nightmare, stuff on the floor, things all mixed up and in no logical order...
Is it just because I'm from the arse-end-of--nowhere (well, Cambridge) - is it better in the sophisticated, grown up London or is it just HM's trademark?
    Answer:
In Nottingham it's a bit like that by Saturday afternoon but if you go in the week it's fine.
    Answer:
The Reading one is usually pretty smart but I remember going to one in Cardiff on a v. busy saturday and there was a strong jumble sale vibe! Pales in comparison to most Primarks i've been to though
    Answer:
A lot of them do seem to be a free for all and like you half the time I just can't be bothered.
The best branch ever is the one in Knightsbridge - its really neat and tidy - just like a proper shop should be!!!! I have even bought a few bits in there simply because it is a much more pleasant shopping experience!
    Answer:
I like the Knightsbridge branch as it's very grown up and civilised... but you'll usually find me lurking twice a week in my local HSK one, which isn't toooo bad in the evening. Just don't go at the weekend!
I've been to HM in Barcelona and it was quite a mess!

    NO.5. ask :
    Designer glasses - any offers?
Just a quick question to stylish glasses wearers on the boards.
I'm off for an eye test tomorrow and suspect that I'm going to need to update my prescription for the first time in a few years and need new frames.
I'm quite fussy (surprise, surprise) and will probably go for a slightly graphic plastic frame style. I really like Alain Mikli, but they're too expensive (or at least they have been when I've seen them in London). So I'll probably be thinking of the likes of Prada, Vivienne Westwood etc.
A long winded way of saying, are there any great offers on at any of the nationwide chains I should be looking at? Or any local places (in Liverpool/Manchester). I went into Specsavers a couple of months ago with a friend and was quite unimpressed by the choice, but I could be wrong.....
    Answer:
I just got 2 pairs from Vision Express - they were doing 90 quid off the second pair. if you're anything like me and always losing yours then its a good idea.
    Answer:
Don't know if you have one near you (and you need to be a member), but I got my new glasses from Costco - really nice **** frames, but they had loads of other brands at very reasonable prices too (and their lenses are only £29 for single vision)
    Answer:
If you're going to Europe any time soon I think the glasses selection is better in germany and amsterdam...not much help but I drooled over glasses (when I used to wear them pre-laser) there and would always buy a couple of pairs and then bring them back here to get lenses put in.
I did read a recent article about glasses (apparently eyeglasses are very 'in' now and going to be huge in autumn/winter) and I'm pretty sure that the journo raved about alain mikli's store in marylebone, for that and other brands.
    Answer:
oh, and just to add, if you are getting rid of old frames then Moorfields Eye Hospital collects them and sends them out to eye clinics in africa. I am pretty sure some optometrists do this too.
