What Goes With Brown??

NO.1. Ask :
What Goes With Brown??
I have a couple of pairs of chocolate brown trousers which I love. At the moment I only pair these up with white tops, as I wasn't sure what else I could match them with that wou;dn't look strange.
Any of you fashion guru's able to give me a couple of hints?
Answer:
Turquoise, cream, beige, caramel, gold, depeding on the colour of brown rose pink, or green.
:D
Answer:
I wear brown with white, cream, tan, turquoise :)
Answer:
Hmm... I've got a lovely turquoise top that I could try - never would've thought of that!
Thanks everyone! xxx
Answer:
It depends on your colouring, to an extent. I love orange with brown, for example, but not everyone can wear orange!
In general, I think brown goes with almost anything, even black if it's done carefully. Teal, turquoise, green (although you need to be careful to avoid the tree effect!), red, pink, certain shades of purple or lilac, metallics, neutrals like camel or mink - the only thing I'd be really wary about are certain shades of blue.

  • Sales Goggles

    NO.2. ask :
    Sales Goggles
I'd like to introduce those who haven't heard it yet to the term 'sale goggles'!
They're a similar thing to beer goggles ... when you've got your sale goggles on things look bl00dy fantastic but ohhh the next day you wonder what the hell you were thinking of ...
I think I've made a fair few purchases with sale goggles on :o
    Answer:
I am loving this expression! I think half my wardrobe was bought under the influence of sales goggles - what was I thinking? :o
    Answer:
Oh god this is so true!
My mistaken belief that a size 8 will fit me is especially strong with the sales goggles on
    Answer:
That's a great expression!! Charity shops have done well out of my sales goggles attacks. I look at things and go, ah it's only X amount, I might as well buy it. But if I had just not bought all the rubbish I never ended up wearing I could have got something really nice!!
Oh well, we live and learn. Actually hold on, that's a total lie, we NEVER learn!! :D
    Answer:
I try very hard to apply the "would I buy it full price?" test but sadly my will is not always strong enough to hear the NO.

    NO.3. ask :
O/T other boards... do you ever use them
I've posted a topic on the Home board earlier today, quite a simple enough question I thought - where to buy decent sofa covers.
Not only have I not had a reply (fair enough people might not know the answer but it doesn't stop them replying in fashion ;) ) but only FIVE people have read it in about 3 or 4 hours! I looked at some other threads and they seemed a bit slow as well.
Do you ever use other boards or do you just stick with fashion?
BTW I've posted in Beauty previously and after a slow start (I thought nobody loved me :sniffles: ) it's now got something like 4 or 5 pages of replies so them lot over there are just as talkative as us!
If you know of anywhere I can buy sofa covers online...

    Answer:
I post in Fitness quite a bit (I have a terrible reputation as a Pilates nutter over there :o ) and also Videogaming and Health. I regularly lurk (and sometimes post) in FD, Beauty, Hair, Careers and ES, and Hobbies. I occasionally wander into Pets (to ogle the gorgeous cats!), Rellies or Celeb Gossip as well.

    Answer:
Blimey geek_kitten! Do you ever do anything except lurk on here!? I thought I was bad. I keep getting caught by my boss on the net but he hasn't said anything yet :o I can't help myself, I'm an addict.
Hair and Hobbies ? What's that? Hobbies to do with hairdressing or Hair styles for people with hobbies? ;)

    Answer:
I post in Beauty, Treatments and therapies and Hair now and again but only when its a little slow on fashion (which is hardly ever!)
I did post on Home the other day about molting towels and got some useful responses.
    Aside from that I lurk I'm afraid.............
    Answer:
I post in Beauty a fair but. Hair and pets sometimes:D

    NO.4. ask :
    Nicotine-stained feet
I spent the morning walking round town in my new tan mules. They were surprisingly comfortable. I've just been out in my flip-flops and on the way home I noticed that I had what seemed to be really obvious nicotine stains all over my toes. It looks like I've been smoking 60 a day all my life, with my feet:o :o It doesn't even look like a bad fake tan job - it is much worse. I'm going to give the Clinique paint stripper a go in the hope that it will come off.
I knew there had to be a catch when new shoes in summer didn't give me blisters:(
    Answer:
When I first read this I thought How the hell has she managed that!? :p
Try toner if you've got some. That has helped me to remove some streaks (but not all) from my legs caused by that Johnsons holiday skin fake tan.
Good luck and if it doesn't work, just pretend your toes have caught the sun!

    NO.5. ask :
    Half price jewellery sale BHS
There's 50% off all jewellery in BHS at the moment. Because they are owned by same group as Topshop, DP's etc there are quite a few nice bits.
    Answer:
 I never knew it was the same company!
I bought some earrings from there once on holiday, exactly the same as some TS ones I loved, but half the price. So i bought two
    Answer:
Yup they're all owned by DKY. Bhs often have some ok pieces in. DP is my fave though.
    Answer:
There's now a sales sticky, so feel free to add this to it!
    Answer:
I was in BHS about 2 months ago looking for ballet pumps and saw their jewellery. It's really nice :great: Exactly the same kind of stuff sold in DP and TS, especially all the beads and ethnic stuff about at the mo.
