packing for New York? help please!
hi all-i'm going to New York for the first time in late september/early october for 12 nights
basically i've never been to NY before and i'm not sure what/how much to pack!
obviously i'll be buying bits and pieces so if i don't take enough i can always buy something there but i would like to be covered generally and dressed appropriately for the weather
also does anyone know where i can get REALLY comfy yet fairly nice shoes-i was wondering what you all thought of the new designs of clarks shoes?
i'm not even sure how many tops/trousers/knickers etc to pack! do you all take enough for every day or wash things at the hotel?
sorry if i sound like an idiot i'm not used to this holiday lark!
xx
Answer:
Take a change of clothes and comfortable shoes then shop for all you're worth. I took everything in my hand luggage when I went (incluing a hold luggage bag folded up) so I don't have to wait at baggage reclaim and could hit the shops super quick. Shopping obessed moi?
Answer:
Can't really help with what to pack for September. I went to NY end of January when they'd had the worst snow for 100 years. Had never been anywhere cold before so packed far too many clothes and had to buy a bag to bring back most of my purchases.
I'm sure you'll have a fantastic time though, I can't wait to go again.

Hmmm... think the weather will be like end APril/early May which was when I was there - I wore my jeans and longsleeve tops with a shrunken jacket and closed toe shoes (can't go wrong!). The weather can be a bit mad, so might rain or be blazing sunny. I did a fair bit of shopping, so glad I packed light - I wore most of the things I bought. Comfy shoes are essential as plenty of walking.
As with everyone else, don't bring too much stuff!

I managed to get some foundation on my white duvet cover when taking a photo of my make up bag contents for a here feature:o
It' Revlon colourstay that doesn't budge off my face which is great but it doesn't seem to be budging after 2 washes of my duvet:mad:
I wouldn't usually mind but this duvet was a birthday present and £50:eek: and i love it to bits!
Any ideas how to shift it?
Ta muchly:)
Answer:
Well, mif it hasn't budges so far, then :meh:
But I use "vanish" on tought stains, it's a spray in a dark/hot pink bottle, and it removes like EVERYTHING
That's my best suggestion..
Answer:
Duh why didn't i think of that! Will have to get a bottle, will keep the stain wet in the meantime, hopefully that will help:confused:
