Anything really, something from primark thats identical to something expensive in another store, sale items, whatever! I can't help being nosey.
Mine has to be a ruched front velvet pencil skirt from Bay, was 28 pounds, I bought it for a pound! It wasn't damaged or anything!

Answer:
A favourite playhouse of mine is TK Maxx. OK, yes it is laid out like a jumble sale but you can get some truly amazing things at great prices! My mum found a swimsuit there - £30 down from £150! :yay:
Answer:
I've had a few decent bargains in my time... can't really put a best ever down... off the top of my head now it would probably have to be my river island cow boots bought off ebay for £5 - I remember when they were in the shops a few years back for £70 or even £75.
Another one I just thought of was a Karen Millen evening dress reduced from £130 down to £25... I wore it for a christmas university ball and was more pleased with how much I paid for it instead of how I looked :o
Answer:
Mine would probably be some bronze/brown court shoes with a suede detail for £4....reduced in primark
Oh and i just won some Yanuk jeans for £10.50 on ebay :yay:
Answer:
mine was some pied a terre sandals which i bought for £100 ans when i got home the straps were broken (they were strappy sandals that go up the leg) which i didnt notice in the shop.
So i took them back and wanted a straight forward exchange, the SA told me we havent ot another pair these are the last pair and we dont get small sizes in it is very rare so once they're gone they are gone.
So after a long argument with snotty SA, i got my £100 back in the end, and was gutted that i couldnt get the shoes anywhere else.
But....about 2 months after decided to pop back into the srore where i got them from and they had a sale on, and lo and behold they had a pair in the sale for £25!!!!!
I was gobsmacked!!! i asked for a size 3 a different SA bought them out to me a brand new pair as well without the broken strap!!
:yay: :yay:

I think they look like you couldn't walk more than about 3 steps without going flat on your face.

Hey, I think this would be better in the Fashion forum marniem!
I don't think they look very practical... They're a bit of serious kit if you're looking to gain a couple of inches, though!

    Answer:
I've got some which are as high as that, they were a gift, I've never worn them, except to try them on out of curiousity.
My curiousity was satisfied as soon as I tried to walk a step - it's frigging impossible, you might as well be on points! :D

Primark - must still be doing boleros...
Thought I'd let it be known that I was in Primark in Watford today and right by the entrance they had a whole rail of gold boleros.
I thought they'd sold out but they must still be getting them in and looks like they're still selling well. Was in the store for quite a while, by the time we left they were only a few left.
Haven't looked on ebay lately, but I would have thought that sales on there must be slowing down by now.
    Answer:
I think they only go for around £20 now on ebay which is still a 100% profit!
    Answer:
I still never saw them in Newcastle - they mustn't ever have had many or they must have gone really quick!
    Answer:
Thanks for that. I know someone who wanted one.

Please can anyone recommend a way to make my leather jacket look a bit more worn?
Its just a bit too shiney, stiff and new looking?
    thank you
    Sara x
    Answer:
Erm, wear it? I think you just have to put up with the new-ness for a while to be honest...
    Answer:
I have actually heard before about putting leather jackets in the washing machine... but there is no way I would try this.
I'm not sure what to suggest really, other than wearing it alot to loosen it up.
    Answer:
How about putting it in a black bag and stamping on it. If it goes horribly wrong I never said anything. :D
Its best to get soft leather whenever possible because it already looks worn in. My leather bomber jacket from Allsaints is super soft and looks worn already (have only worn it out about 5 times since April)

    really o/t - advice needed
Hiya... sorry, this is a bit long... but I need some feedback.
I know this should do under GC or finance or something but I know trust you guys best :)
Was out shopping today... went to a cashpoint and was about to get some money out but was interrupted by a girl who I had just seen using another atm, 2 machines down.
She told me that she didn't think it was working properly and the transactions go ahead but it doesn't dispense any money... she said 'i'm just getting the number off there (on the atm monitor there was a 'screensaver' style message to say if there are any probs with the machine then to call the bank on the number stated).
She had her mobile out in front of me - but looking back on it now, she was only there for about 2-3 seconds... surely that wasn't enough time for her to copy the number down on the screen.
I went to the machine next to it - different bank - and proceeded to draw money out from there... I did check the slot and covered the keypad as I entered my pin (always do anyway).
Another man turned up to use the machine I just moved from... I mentioned to him exactly what the other girl told me... he actually said that the other 2 machines down in the other direction had a problem too... I told him I was told the machine might not be dispensing money properly, just as it did chuck his money out.
I looked back and the girl was still there and it looked like she was on her phone. Just as I finished with the machine, there was a warning that if the machine looked like any of the sample pics on the screen then to not use it.
The pics only flashed up quickly, but now I am worried that I may have been scammed.
I contacted lost stolen and they told me not to bother cancelling the card and keep an eye on my transactions. Surely it would be safer to cancel the card and prevent possible fraud rather than waiting to see what might happen to you?
Has anyone heard of any incident like this where you've been advised to use 'another' machine cos they claim the one you're about to use 'may not' be working properly?
Does anyone think that i may be worrying about nothing? I'm just being really suspicious that not many people are really that helpful to warn you about bank machines not working properly then actually call the bank?
I dunno... but then I think about it and I advised the next person... but it worked for them, which is why I only started worrying about it afterwards.
    Answer:
Yingers, I've just done a search on google for cashpoint scams and came up with these:
    http://www.gloucestershire.police.uk/news/1918b.html
    http://www.nthsomnw.org.uk/article.php3?id_article=47
there's probably more on the net too, so perhaps do a search?
It does seem a bit dodgy, but I assume it was the bank you called? Did they log your call? I don't know what else I can advise other than check your balance.
I'm super paranoid about using cashpoints and tend to get cashback from supermarkets rather than use them these days. Mind you, the whole 'chip and pin' system worries me too as quite often the consoles can be easily overlooked.
I know it's not much comfort, but I'm sure you're worrying unecessarily, but keep us posted...
    Axx
    Answer:
Cheers for that arnie... I'd just been doing a search on the matter just before I posted this thread and just read your links and they all pretty much tell you the same kind of things.
I did check for devices cameras and conceal my pin... i didn't have any problems drawing money either (one of the links has described about 3 different machine symptoms - none of which I experienced).
However, i did tell lost stolen (at my bank) that I did conceal my pin and the guy at the bank did say that atm scams are getting so clever these days that they don't even need the pins these days - just your bank details are enough sometimes!
I suppose working in that department he gets this kind of worry all the time - the fact that he told me not to cancel my card kind of makes me feel a bit better... but I still can't help but feel a bit concerned.
    Answer:
I would cancel my card just incase. It would save so much hassle for you (and the bank) in the long run if there really is a scam going on. I'd cancel it and get new details. It will put your mind at rest, and make sure that nothing happens anyway!
    Answer:
A friend of mine had a similar thing happen, and she was advised to print out one of those mini statement slips over the next few days so if money goes missing she knew right away. You could try that, just to keep you mind at rest, cancelling your card might leave you cardless for a week or so, and banks are getting really funny about handing cash over at the counter.
