i'm not sure, i think the grommets might rust :cmdunno: i'm going to use that foam stuff they advertise on tv for washing carpets and sofas when the need arises.

Don't wash it the cardboard stiffening the bottom will go mushy and it will get a saggy bottom (a feeling I know well).

I saw a gorgeous dress on net-a-porter but I don't want to buy it without trying it on. I am my sister's bridesmaid in 2 weeks and the dress I was going to wear (vintage) didn't survive drycleaning so I am looking for a failsafe back-up.

I would either try and contact Cacharel or try my best to guess the size i need and order from NAP. It says their returns service is free within 7 days so you could do that? Or you could buy two sizes if you are deliberating and return one.
It says on the Cacharel site that they stock in Harvey Nichols in London so they might stock in the one in Edinburgh if you have any way of getting there?

I am going to Edinburgh at the weekend to look for shoes with my mum and my sister... Harvey Nicks there definitely do have Cacharel but there's no guarantee they would have that particular dress.
I guess I will just have to go and look at what's out there today, and if I don't find anything then perhaps I will order it from NAP.

Yes. It's so annoying when things like this happen! Maybe try giveing them a call if you can quote them the name of the dress, the style and maybe the price. They shoudl be able to tell you if they stock it :D

Can't help on the Chacharel stockists but I for a cheaper alternative I would try Hobbs, LK Bennett and Coast all on George Street in Edinburgh and on Buchanan St in Glasgow.
I got a very similar dress to that in Hobbs last year and they are the kind of shop that tends to repeat patterns I have found.

i saw them in an advert in OK magazine this week. They look really nice on the ladys foot in the advert and apparantly they are air cushioned for all day comfort which is what tempts me... if you go on the clarks website they are the funky doo ones in duckshell blue.
what do you think of them?

Yeah, they look quite nice actually - on the Clarks home page, there's a lady wearing a similar style with cropped jeans and I thought they looked nice with them.

its the comfyness which is doing it for me i think, i think they might be nice to wear walking around florida. and i have to admit, the pic in the advert in the magazine looks a lot better than the close up of the shoes on the website. I suspect they look completely different on your foot
