Please help with fancy dress
Hiya
I've been invited to a 'prostitutes and pimps' (groan) themed party this weekend. The thing is, i won't be going until quite late, and probably only for a short amount of time.
I'm trying to work out if i should make the effort to dress up, or just go as me.
Do you guys have any simple easy ideas? I don't want to spend much (or any) money - would much rather put my well-earned to stuff that i like. I should add, i'm completely uncomfortable about baring excessive flesh in the company of strangers :)
Answer:
I'd say just mess up your hair, smear your make up, and go as a cheap whore!
... if you want.
Answer:
Just go as yourself! If anyone asks, you're a 'high class hooker' who doesn't need to show any flesh to get a good night's work!
Answer:
I'd go as a pimp if I were you. Wear a black or white suit (tuxedo style if you have one), lots of bling. Borrow a friend's white fur bolero or fur wrap (or use your own if you have one). Wear a trilby? Killer heels. Very nice!!!
Answer:
Excellent suggestions guys! The high class hooker comments made me giggle (oh that it were true! - being high class that is:lol: )
Also like the pimp idea, but alas have no friends who do the fur thing....shame!
Thanks

Short sleeved jacket in UO
NO.2. ask :
Short sleeved jacket in UO
Hello!! I wondered if any of you had seen this and if so, what you thought? It's the green French terry one on the UO Website. I saw it in the green, a nice sky blue and black. What do people think? I loved it, but all opinions welcome. It's made of sort of sweater material. Price is £40 I think?
Answer:
i saw it, i liked it until i saw it was sweater material, i thought that was a bit weird...
Answer:
When I was in UO last week I tried it on, and because of the fabric it looks a bit more like a cardigan type thing.
Not the best item of clothing they have in there!
Answer:
Hmmm. I guess I like it because of the weird material. Frankly, I am currently finding the majority of their stuff uninspiring. :( In fact, I had a quick whip round the shops last night and only found a cream short linen jacket in Gap to inspire me - for work because I need a new jacket. But have spoken to mum who I might have persuaded to buy it for me when she comes to stay.
Answer:
Love it - I really like that style.

Which birkies to get?
NO.3. ask :
Which birkies to get?
Having so much trouble deciding on a pair of birkies - there's too much choice! Just wondering which birkenstocks everyone else has? I like the madrid ones and the madrid ones with the cut out detail but I'm not sure what colour. I quite like the silver, khaki and green ones. Do you think they would be versatile enough? :)
ETA: I'll be wearing them mainly with jeans and khaki combats so maybe silver would be the best?
Answer:
I've got hot pink madrids and I love them! I also wear them with jeans and skirts and pretty much everything. I think you may be right about the silver though.
Answer:
I've had silver and white madrids in the past. Both were super versatile.
Answer:
i've had red, pale pink and white and have bought my second pair of white ones this summer because they're so useful!
i'd go for white everytime!
Answer:
I do like the sound of white ones as well now come to mention it  The silver ones I wanted are sold out on Schuh now :( Will try to track them down elsewhere...
Decisions decisions!!

There's a cropped jacket on page 216 of marie claire - it's in that miu miu pattern you like - its from zara
Answer:
oooh that sounds lovely, will have to go and get Marie Claire. I am panicking slightly that I've lost control of my spending though this month. I'm in a constant whirl of buying stuff, taking it back, changing it, buying some more.......
Think maybe i should sloe down until pay day (which incidentally is just before the meet!!).

Answer:
I thought I'd encourage you as you're obviously trying to break my determination to not buy anything for a whole pay month with your display of the new shoes today ;)
You know, It's actually quite a nice feeling, managing to control my spending urges - I'm surprised, although I'm only two weeks into it but I suppose that's half way. I'm hoping this experience will make me a more discerning buyer when I do shop next as I'm shocked at how much stuff I've bought and not worn and have no intention of wearing!!!!
Answer:
Hmmm maybe I should try it, although trying it at this end of the month is much easier!!
It is definitely here's blimmin fault - I get tempted by so many nice things and rather than thinking one pair of long shorts and one pair of short shorts is enough I end up with a wardrobe full fit for every eventuality!

Answer:
me too, but as yet most unworn!
are your white ones from miss selfridge a bit see through? you can see the pockets through mine!!!!
Nice gold hoop earrings
NO.5. ask :
Nice gold hoop earrings
Where can I get some? I think they would be a good compliment to some of my recent purchases.
I'm not sure whether plain ones are best or ones with pretty dangly bits. Need inspiration from you baggers before I do my lunchtime shopping!

Answer:
If you're not after real gold then DP's have some fantastic jewellery at the moment...
Answer:
Don't think I'll be buying any real gold anytime soon! I got some nice ones from Accessorise in the end (see this week's purchases thread).
