TopShop's Unique Range
My mum has seen something advertised in a magazine from Topshop's Unique Range. Do you know where we can find out some more info?
TIA
Answer:
There used to be a section on the site about it but i can't find it now
I think the best thing to do would phone you local store and see if they stock it, if not then the Oxford Street branch would definately be able to help you, but i don't know if that would be any use if you live out of London, sorry :o

Has your Father had an influence on your attitude to clothes/shoes?

Hi,
Just wondering.... I think it must've been my Dad that I inherited my love of shoes from. As a child I remember him buying a pair of shoes which, at the time, cost something like a week's pay - his M-I-L was horrified, but he looked after them and wore them for years, so the "cost per wear" was very little. He taught me to buy only leather shoes - which is something I still do, with very rare exceptions! If we went out at the w/end, I always had to polish my shoes first!

Nope, not at all.
I remember finding a PVC a-line mini skirt with gold buttons down the front that I thought I'd misplaced under my parents mattress though!!!!!!
My Dad admitted that he took it out of my wardrobe as there was 'No way any daughter of his was going out wearing that'! Looking back I see his point, I was only 15 at the time and it was teeny, but they were in fashion back then!!!!
He threw it out and gave me back the £8 it had cost me down the local market:p
Answer:
It was a matt black PVC skirt - not a shiny one (Not that I should for excused for picking it out in the first place!) :o :o

ahem i had a shiny black pvc mini skirt back in my raving days at astoria, rocket and camden palace :o thought i was the mutts nuts :D
i digress....
my father has had no influence on my clothes whatsoever, or my mum for that matter. i would love it if my mum had a chest of clothes in the attic for me, with a load of vintage and hippy chic bits but she didnt have the foresight to do that unfortunately! Its a shame as my mum was a regular at Biba and the pics i have of my childhood all picture my mum looking fab in these 70's dresses and skirts.
so, no is your answer! :)

 CaramelX, I read that totally wrong about why it was under your parents' mattress!
In need of some shoes...
NO.4. ask :
In need of some shoes...
I'm in need of some nice flat shoes..if such a thing exsists???
Just started seeing a guy who is the same height as me, and i'm off out with him again on wed night....
Answer:
Um, the list is endless! Are you looking for something cute, casual, dressy, or whatnot?
I'd try New Look first of all; they often have decent quality leather ballet flats/pointy flats for around £20, usually in a multitude of colours. Topshop usually have some nice ones too.
And Primark have lots in too, including plain leather ballet flats (black, brown, red, purple, I think) for about £10.
ETA: Oh, and there's no reason why you can't wear shoes that make you taller than your date ;) In the right shoes I can look down on Pilot Boy, and it never fails to thoroughly amuse both of us!

Answer:
Cute and dressy I guess, going out for a meal..
I've got hundreds of pairs of dressy flip flops so if it is sunny i've got that covered, i'm just a bit clueless on the normal flat shoe front, I have one pair of ballet pumps that I wear for work...
I do have a bit of an addiction for anything teal at the mo...
ETA: I've always gone out with taller guys before, and wouldn't wanna give him a complex about his height, not til I know him better anyway!

i bought some lush red satin pumps from the red herring section in debenhams on saturday for £10, they also had a teal colour, black....i cant remember the rest...:)
Answer:
I second g_k's recommendation of Primark. They've got some lovely, in my opinion, flats in at the moment. I particularly like the pointed pumps with a bow. And of course the added bonus that none are more than about a tenner :D
Dresses and trousers still ok?
NO.5. ask :
Dresses and trousers still ok?
Is it still ok to wear dresses/long tops and trousers? I know its not as if I will get arrested ;) but just wondered what the general hb consensus is!

Answer:
Hiya,
I think it is ok as long as you are wearing the right dress ofcourse to go over trousers!! but my dilema always is what to wear on top if it's chilly out there?? maybe a shrug now that they are popular?? any feed back ladies??
thanks

Answer:
i've been wearing dress over trews for many years now and i think i'll be 'doing' this for many years to come (plus great for maternity wear when i was pg!).
i've just bought a really lovely pair of irish linen wide leg white trews from MS to wear under a tea dress for the summer.
i dont really worry what i wear over - shrugs, coats, blazer, it just depends on the dress; sometimes a jacket that ends higher than the dress doesn't not work but othertimes it looks fine, a little quirky for want of a better word, but ok!
i wish ponchos hadn't been abused as i used to wear them a couple years ago, it was the perfect additional layer if required!
i would say if you feel comfortable then follow that, rather than whats 'in' or what's 'out'

Answer:
I still wear dresses over jeans/trousers and wont be stopping any time soon as im another one who was doing this look aaaagges ago, so it feels like one of 'my things' rather than because its 'now'
I love this look.
I think shrugs are a great idea and I will also wear blazers over the top if its chilly. As long as the dress isnt too long then it shouldnt look odd.

Answer:
I do, and quite a lot of other people in Uni do too.
