First clothing purchase from ebay!

NO.1. Ask :
First clothing purchase from ebay!
Just wanted to share that I made my first clothing purchase on ebay last night (and from an overseas seller too!)
:p
Am feeling very pleased with myself but also a little nervous in case it doesn't fit or I don't like it when it arrives!

Hope it looks as good as it does in the piccie when it arrives! At least I have got a parcel to look forward to!
Here is my purchase - top - what do you think?
Answer:
That is seriously nice, a little flimsy for a woman of my years but spot on for a youngster :D
Answer:
Thank you!!:o
Not quite sure about the underwear requirements yet as it does appear to be fairly sheer (perhaps some nipple stickers! ;) )
Answer:
I've never been convinced as to the wisdom of sticking corn plasters on your nips  I'd go for a light weight seamless flesh tone bra.
Answer:
Very pretty top. And I'm sure there will be more suitable underwear alternatives  Ouch that hurts thinking about it..........

Hmm, I make jewellery anyway so am making a cool sparkly one to add to my HK Faithfull!
I'm just adding crystals and bits of stuff that I like to a chain with wire and jump rings, and plan to make another by glueing/sewing cute cut out felt/fabric bits to some suede ribbon and adding some stones to it - not sure how that will pan out!
    Answer:

    NO.3. ask :
    Sorry..... another bikini/swimsuit thread
I'm having a hard time finding nice bikinis/swimsuits for my holidays.
I know most people prefer bikinis for their holidays, but are swimsuits a complete no-no? My other half thinks they will be too hot, but personally I think that's just an excuse for him to see a bit more flesh!
And a question regarding designer stuff (Missoni and Pucci particularly). They have some gorgeous styles and designs, but are they practical? They're not just for posing in are they? Are they suitable for swiming in chlorinated pools? They're so expensive I would want them to last a while - I usually get cheepo bikinis from Tescos and end up chucking them away every year because they fall to bits.
Can you tell I'm a bit traumatised about the thought of swimwear :o
    Answer:
    Hello,
With Missoni / Pucci you need to be careful what fabirc they are. I have a Missoni bikini that's fine for swimming and my best mate always buys Pucci and wear them to death, but both Missoni and Pucci have some strange fabrics this year - one with a fish scale effect which is definitely for posing.
I'm a bikini whore and I like them teeny tiny, but I tend to buy a couple of cheap Topshop / Zara bikinis, a couple of designer ones - Missoni or Zimmerman and a surfy one with more substantial bottoms and a bust controlling top for proper swimming.
I couldn't imagine wearing a swimsuit on the beach unless it was one of those cut away ones, but I imagine they give you very strange tan lines. Have you tried Melissa Odabash - her bikinis are a bit more substantial, but are really glamourous?
    Mimi xx
    Answer:
Oh poor you Curls - you do sound very traumatised! :(
I personally wouldn't wear a swimsuit on holiday - I don't think I've owned one since I was about 12 - and I'd say the Pucci and Missoni ones are def for posing! I don't think swimsuits are particularly flattering tbh whereas a well-fitting (albeit, granted, difficult to find) bikini can look fantastic. Try Melissa Odabash as Mimi suggests. I'm trying to find a chocolate brown one with boy short bottoms as I think I'm too old to be strutting around in string bottoms :o - why don't you consider a style like that? I think they're really flattering and cover a multitute of sins!
    Answer:
Thanks Mimicat, some useful advice! I'm not really a sit around sun bathing kind of a gal (I'm too pale and burn easily) so I mostly want suits I can wear to take a dip in the sea or in the hotel pool. I've seen a few nice one piece suits that are high leg and look like bikinis from the back, but complete at the front. I can't for the life of me find a bikini that gives good enough bottom coverage unless I get granny knicker ones from Tesco or BHS but I want something a little more glamorous this year (but I don't have a glamorous body :o ).
Like the sound of the Melissa Odabash ones - can you recommend anywhere in London to buy them? I just had a look at the website but they seem to want your life history before they tell you where they are stocked
    Answer:
    Re: Sorry..... another bikini/swimsuit thread
I guess it depends where you are going on your hols, Curls. If you're only swimming in pools, your top isn't likely to be whipped off by the waves so you'll probably be fine in a regular bikini (not so with those bandeau ones and a dip in the Med  ). If you'll be in the sea and fancy a bit of proper swimming, then I think speedo do 2-piece ones. They aren't that attractive but you wouldn't get "hot" in them either as they don't have the middle piece.
Anyway, my advice is: get a nice skimpy one for lazy pool days and a good-fitting one for your early-morning swims or whatever.
This is the bikini I want. I think it's gorge! I haven't bought it yet as I need to buy it from a proper shop as the stripes vary and it can look downright ugly.
Sorry, for that last bit of useless info. I just wanted to share (OH just muttered "um..nice").

Short lunch break - Covent Garden
As the title says - I have a very short lunch break today and want to buy some gauchos. Is there anywhere that sells them in Covent Garden?? There is a TS near my office too....if no gauchos - what else can I buy??!!!
    Answer:
    can no-one help?:(
    Answer:
I haven't seen any gauchos in this country I'm afraid and I never go to Covent Garden to shop any more...... so I'm very sorry, but I'm no help at all!
    Mimi x
    Answer:
    boohoo! :(
    Answer:
Hadn't even heard of gauchos til Mitchey and Mimi's thread, I'm afraid, so can't help you there......however, if you're at a loose end in Covent Garden you could go to Kit Heath, and buy some funky jewellery, or Lush (or L'Occitane!), and stock up on yummy smelling stuff, or, you could go to Paul and have a lovely little lemon meringue tart and some chamomile tea (not exactly retail therapy, I know, but still lovely!)
Ooooh or Neal's Yard? Or Zara Accessories? Or that boutique/department store a bit down from Zara Accessories - I don't know what it's called and I've never been in and I can't remember the road name but it looks fun! Hmmm I'm dead helpful me, aren't I?....
    Have fun x

What to wear to a ...
    Hi all
Do not post in fashion much but lurk regualarly.
I am going to see Faithless at the London Alexandra next weekend.
Have never been to anything like this before and wondered if anyone had any advice on what i could wear??
Am going shopping tomorrow so would like to try and get something then
    Thanks
    PrincessM
    Answer:
Lucky you i bet they're amazing live :D
Unless you're planning to arrive late you'll probably end up sitting around on the floor (thats my experience of gigs there anyway) so don't wear anything you don't want to get dusty. Also everyone is carrying around pints of beer in plastic cups (that when squeezed go all over the place) so expect to get some down you  Also, can get quite hot when everyone's dancing and crowded together.
I guess I'd wear jeans, reasonably-comfy shoes (if you're trekking round london to get there) and a little top under a coat/hoody that you can take off and ideally tie around your waist.
    Have a great time!
