Inconsistency in Sizes!
Is driving me mad!:mad:
Why is it that in Primark I'm a 10/12, in Topshop I'm a 12 ditto Miss Selfridge, French Connection Yet, I can barely get into a 14 in Zara, Mango. And I have to go up a size in Oasis for tops. It's the more expensive places like Whistles, LK Bennett and Paul and Joe where the sizing seems more generous.
Does anyone else have this problem, of just not knowing what size you are becuase of the inconsistency in the shops?:confused:

I'm glad it's not just me- I get really frustrated in shops. Hence buying so much online so that I can rant and sob in the comfort of my own home :mad:
Going by my measurements I'm a size 12 hourglass but I'm:
8/10 in Primark
10 in Topshop
10 in Miss Selfridge (although bought a size 6 in there last week :confused: )
10 in Next
8 in Oasis
10 in Warehouse
12/14 in Zara

That's why I shop online a lot, I hate having the whole farce of trying on stuff and finding the size is completely wrong! Especially with the hideous lighting changing rooms have.

Different sizes between shops I can live with; it's inconsistencies within the same shop that get me. I've tried on 8s in the same shop that fitted, were far too tight or hung off me. It's exasperating.

I bought a pair of indigo Gap bootcut long and leans in a size 8 (uk 12) and they looked fab, so I got them in different wash of denim without trying them on as the other pair in the same style/size fitted fine. But they were too tight, and far too long despite the leg measurements being identical. :boohoo:
It makes me wonder if the inconsistency of sizing is due to using different factories to make the clothes?

Im pretty sure that Zara are doing see-through bags. If that makes sense! I saw a few last time I went a few weeks ago.

sorry, did a search but couldn't find anything.
I want to get a pair of white Madrids but don't know what size to order.
I've looked online and one site said to order your normal size and another site said to order 2 sizes smaller :confused:
I'm normally a size 7. My feet are quite wide and will norammly take an 8 if the shoes are narrow.
Any ideas?

Hi tiggerific.. Birkies come in both wide and narrow fits. I wear a size 4-5 and bought mine in a 38. When I tried them on, they looked a little bit big but the man in soletrader said that they're meant to have a bit of room at the front and back to allow for the movement of your feet as you walk. He was right, I think if I'd gone for a smaller size they'd be nowhere near as comfortable as they are.

I just bought red madrids in a size 38 I am usually a 39/40 .... so I would advise you really try them on before you buy them :)

I size down in mine - I'm a 3/36 and buy a regular width 35 in Birkies, I'd also say it's worth trying them on instore and then buying online.

In Croydon TS yesterday I saw a Laura Lees sundress in black cotton with a ditsy floral print in red, yellow blue and green, with pockets and crossover straps at the back. It was in the Buy It Now or Regret It! section and wasn't in my size, alas, because I loved it! Just wondered if anyone knew the dress I'm talking about and how long it's been around?

thanks naz, but yeah, its a bit too fussy for me. i think i'll be wearing the shoes with lots of stuff, tbh, but a particular outfit i have in mind is with gold accessories. what do you think of
