Tips? How do I keep my trainers looking decent?
I've just bought a really nice pair of trainer/pumps and they were really expensive for me!
They are white and I've only wore them a few times and already they are looking scruffy. And my jeans ran dye on them!
Any tips on what will get it off?
How do you keep them looking decent?
Thanks. x
Answer:
Use Cif cream cleaner to get off the dye and restore the whiteness. Once you've got off all the stains, mantain them with white shoe polish, which you should be able to get anywhere really.

I've recently just bought two pairs of trainers and I make sure I wipe then down each time I take them off when I get in.

Try using one of those Flash sponges to remove any marks. Weird I know but I swear it works!

i wear it with dark/bright color turtle neck jumper or t-shirt with jeans and tied the string on the waist instead of letting go down on the bum.

Hi

what did the article in vogue say about crochet??
Answer:
"the handcrafted classic gets a modern makeover"
In the Vogue shops section there is two pages on crochet fashion showing crochet on the catwalk from the likes of Prada, Chanel and Helmut Lang and in the shops with things from Top Shop and Miss Selfridge
It also says you should wear nude or a sheer underneath it - thats why I wondered what people were wearing with it - I must admit I wasn't thinking of the dark jumper idea but I have had a fiddle and it works ! nice one!

Unexpected bargains...
I LOVE unexpected bargains :D
On Saturday I was idly browsing in TK Maxx and picked up a lovely pair of chocolate brown shoes - mmm, £24.99, my size, fits well - lurvely! THEN I spotted the pillar-box red, even more gorgeous pair on the clearance shelf. My size, fits well, good leather inside and out - £11. BARGAIN.
This evening Mr C is away on business so I popped round the retail park on the pretext of picking up some greeting cards but really to mooch around Outfit as well. Was surprised to see sale stuff still on rails. And then what do I come across on the Miss Selfridge sale rail but a gorgeous dressy blazer, only one left in my size - £10 down from £40.
I am very smiley tonight :p
PLUS Mr C has just emailed me to confirm that his work has approved his conference trip to NYC in April - I'm going to NY! Wahey!!

Shoe damage - should I bother?

Shoe damage - should I bother?
Hiya, I know we get variations on these posts now and again, but would really appreciate some fresh advice.
I have a pair of shoes, had them for a little while, although worn only a few times. Because of this, I can't find the receipt... they were from House of Fraser and they still sell them at full price.
There is a bit of retaining elastic at the back of each shoe that helps keep them on. one of these bits has completely come off, ripping the lining in the shoe with it. Now when I wear them, the shoe without the elastic keeps slipping off, making them completely unwearable.
They are well worn in, still in reasonable condition though, would you guys bother returning them to House of Fraser without the receipt and ask them for an exchange or refund?
I've never really had this problem before, so don't know what to do really.
Answer:
if they're still selling them at full price they must still be quite recent and you won't have the problem of demonstrating you paid fullprice and the item has subsequently gone on sale. So, yep, I would take them back and say they're a faulty design and either ask for a replacement pair (and keep the receipt in case it is a design fault and happens again) or a store credit.
Answer:
I agree with Ellie in my student days I used to work in a shoeshop and if someone brought something back with an obvious fault that we were still selling I'd offer them an exchange or credit, I think you should be fine. Im my experience though if they broke once they will again so don't get a replacement just take the credit, that's up to you though obviously!!!
